chris3g
which options did you choose to install? I had the best results just installing the main and intel SSE packages. Do not install the "common hardware" packages.
nicko_029
Oke, Max CPU is disabled. How do I know which 10.4.8 works and which doesn't? It's called JaS osx86 sse2/sse3. During installation it comes up with the semthex or something. I can't remember right now, but I know that I was install about 2 or 3 versions until I found the right one... emig647
Also make sure you're running BIOS 1901.
InflatableMouse
Yup BIOS 1901. I tried with the options off as suggested above but no joy. I am now downloading another image, named differently than the one I have and suggested in another thread. Thx.
chris3g
the image you want is JAS 10.4.8 ss2/ss3 ppf1 + ppf2

InflatableMouse
Wow. Installation went smooth. I was able to install the nvidia drivers (diabolic something). Rebooted, works fine. 1600x1200 75Hz. Then I rebooted again and then the screen went black. I let it sit for a couple of minutes and see HD activity. Caps locks works so OSx boots but there is no screen. I have a secondary output but its digital only (hdmi/dvi) and my monitor only has VGA input. I cannot switch to the other output. How do I get back in??? I mean, that was an awefully short OSX experience Thx,.
emig647
Well first off, if you have a nvidia card... you should check out nvidiaEFI.kext. That should keep your screen from going blank before you get to the desktop. Second off you may want to try Natit dual v.02 kext if you have an nvidia card. What card do you have exactly? candykane
Well im back at 10.4.8 WoW just works better for me under 8 than 9 LoL because 10.4.9 should have better WoW support

I'm pretty sure I used Natit v.02. I have a Asus 7900GT with 1 DVI-A connector (VGA monitor connected) and a HDMI (digital only) connector. I do not have a monitor with a HDMI or DVI connection, only analog VGA connections, otherwise I could have switched the monitor to the other output. I'm trying to find out how to get back into the system. Can I boot to a console screen and fix this?
InflatableMouse
Anyone know if I can boot to a console and how to fix this from a command line? Thx.
InflatableMouse
Hm osx boots when holding down shift (safe mode). I can then reset the graphics display but on the next boot it picks the wrong output again. Does anyone know how to force to a certain output on the card? Thx again. wedra
Sorry, all... but i'm a bit confused. Is possible RAID 0 (stripe) configuration via ICH7 Intel on this motherboard in OsX86 ?? Not EZ-Backup, nor Jmicron. Thanks again.
InflatableMouse
OS X is running fine but I'm having trouble getting sound to work. How do I enable sound on the p5w dh dlx? I read something about replacing a kext file, removing applehda kext file. I did all that but no go. Then there is something about a patcher, applehdapatcher115. That one crashes my system. I'm happy its running now and I don't feel much for upgrading the kernel or to 10.4.9. Is it possible to get sound to work with this 10.4.8/semthex 8.8.1? Thx again. emig647
I used ALC882 AppleHDA v0.4b.mpkg.zip by targa When I installed, I put 10.4.8, the JaS combo update immediately after. The 10.4.9 NOHPET kernel, my graphics driver, that sound package and I was good to go.
InflatableMouse
Oke. I cannot get your link to work but I think I found another link that works. I removed the old one and put that one in place but now I get the message that IOHDAxxxx is not properly installed. Where is the log so I can paste the complete message? I am sucha n00b with osx ....

Sorry, that was a paste from my finder, I was too lazy to type it out exactly, and too lazy to get rid of the link =P. Anyways, your log should be in /Library/Logs/Console/501/ for console logs and /var/log for other logs like system.log. I'm sad it's not working for you. It was one of the easiest installations I've gone through and a very rock stable computer with everything enabled :-/. Msg me if you have any more issues, it may be easier to reinstall at this point. InflatableMouse
Oke, three more reinstalls later .... The only videodriver that works correctly (at least for now) is the Natit Uni v.1. Sometimes I reboot and the display is upsidedown or the monitor turns on (green led) but I need to unplug the cable from the videocard and plug it back in. Is this because I have a analog monitor? Sound is also working with the ALC882 AppleHDA v0.4b.mpkg.zip by taruga (thanks Emig647). Seems like I'm pretty much set, except for the occasional video troubles. If anyone has any tips on this, please help me out. I'm using a Asus 7600GT with HDMI en DVI-A output. I am using the DVI-A to VGA for my monitor. Thx again. emig647
Did you try Natit Dual v.02? That's the one I've had the most luck with. But I wonder if you're right and VGA monitors don't work well. I need to find another lcd and see how that shows up along with my 20" widescreen.
InflatableMouse
Yes I tried the Natit Dual v.02. That's when my screen goes black and does not come back unless I boot into safe mode. I'm very happy at the moment. I rebooted several times today and no troubles at all. Really looks like everything is working good.
emig647
Good job If you ever try the dual .02 again, you need NvidiaEFI.kext installed.
Jettatore
Ok, got 10.4.9 installed.... Got QE, CI and Rotation Working... Got internet working... Got sound working.... DVD Playback seems a little choppy..... But anyways.... ---------------------------------------------- OSX can see both my HDD's, one has Vista installed on it and the other has my OSX installation. However Vista can't see the OSX disk. Before I even put OSX on the drive Vista still could not see it for some reason.... My vista disk is plugged into the Red SATA 1 port and the OSX disk is plugged into the Black SATA 3 port while my DVD Burner is hooked up to the SATA 4 port. So the Vista disk is listed by the BIOS as 3rd Master while OSX is 3rd slave and I believe the DVD-R is listed as 4th slave. Also in Vista when I go to the device manager, the HDD is listed as present and working, it just doesn't show up in My Computer. So any help getting the disk to show up under Vista would be appreciated. Jettatore
Macdrive 7 doesn't work on Vista 64, is there any other way to get Windows to be able to recognize the drive? And also, I have a third disk, and I would like to format it so that both Vista 64 and OSX can read/write to it. Sort of like a middle man. Any ideas? Also, my DVD playback is choppy with Apples default DVD Player. I hear this is common. Is it fixable, or is there just a better program to download to replace it?
