hello, i need help regarding lilu and whatevergreen. I tried to install high sierra on my legacy system, it's an DFI DK X58=T3eH6 mobo with xeon processor and amd radeon hd 7770 2GB. after installation, when i boot with radpg=15 it shows white screen, then i tried to boot with -radvesa and it can enter the login screen without acceleration, so to do some setting i temporarily use -radvesa to get into high sierra, then when i erase the -radvesa from boot argument and change it back to radpg=15, it still enter vesa mode, how do i fix this? i already tried booting with -f and it still boot to vesa mode. Also, in the Radeon FAQ file, it said that we should empty the framebuffer setting in clover, so inside the config.plist i already deleted the framebuffer setting, but when i boot to clover and scroll to the framebuffer setting, it automaticly filled with my last setting, i have to delete it manually everytime i boot, is there a cache or something that clover do to make the setting re-appeared in clover boot menu? because i check the config.plist and the framebuffer isnt there...

I have been having issues getting a intel DX58so with a gulftown W3680 running smothly with Mojave

I can only boot with one monitor on (DP-HDMI Adapter) and the other monitor off (HDMI)

to use both, I have to boot and sleep/wake (which sometimes doesnt wake the monitor console showing gpu restarts) then it will work with dual monitors

A have been stuck at WEG 1.3.8 but noticed in the latest WEG release specific updates for WESTMERE

will the latest WEG/LILU improvoe my situation?

booting UEFI (although this was intels first UEFI effort and its purportidly buggy)

clover 5115

split personallity Mac Pro 5.1 sysdef with imac pro id

w3680 VEGA 56 airboost

everything works except for dual monitor black screen if both are on at boot time.. very frustrating

Hi, I have a dell optiplex 9020 running nicely with opencore 0.6.0 and friends. The machine has a Yeston RX 550 640SP 4GB video card with device-id 67ff and this works really nicely. I have a 3440x1440 UWQHD display.

The problem that I have is when I wake the machine from sleep, I get the top left 640x480 part of the screen centred in the display flashing alternating white and the correct part of the image.

If anyone has seen this or knows of a fix please let me know. I've searched in vain for the last couple of days and found nothing. If there is any info I can provide, just let me know.

Hello, guys.

Is there anyone know how to properly make mask for Whatevergreen parameter igfxonlnfbs=MASK when I have need to force online only one connector, which has number 2?

Thank you

The boot-args are documented (but only briefly) at https://github.com/acidanthera/WhateverGreen

I think most of them could use a little more detail.

For igfxonlnfbs, you also need igfxonln=1 (this is not clearly stated in the doc).

igfxonlnfbs has the same format as igfxfcmsfbs .

Wow. Thank you for explanation. I saw that documentation, but there is no any clear connection between those two arguments, except of their functional similarity.

So, do I need just add in boot-args these two arguments?

igfxonln=1 igfxonlnfbs=0x02

Is that right?

Seems correct.

Have some problems with Amd Radeon Pro w5500 (navi) card. It works only with agdpmod=pikera, but have cursor lagging problem (cursor freezes for a 1/10s every two seconds). Vega64 works like a charm. ps. Tested with latest catalina and latest big sur beta.

Hey guys!

I bought a new machine - hp elite desk 800 g5 with i5-9500T and RX560X on board. I thought it will easy thing to run there Catalina, but something is going wrong, because after boot process and apple logo I have black screen (display illuminated, system booted and even sound via DP works) with discrete card and connected with it through DP monitor.

Here is the list what I have tried to do:

- CSM - on/off;

- boot with and without Whatevergreen;

- boot with ejected 0300913E framebuffer;

Videocard has supported device-id - 0x67ff.

I use iMac19,1 SMBIOS.

All my attempts was with latest Catalina release.

Is there something which I missing? Maybe it need to do some additional tuning, because it's proprietary video card with some tricky vBIOS?

Thank you

Hi everyone,

I've been trying to run my Laptop HDMI port in 4K30Hz for days now. I'm pulling my hair off!!I've tried various configurations with Hackintool. Most of the time I get LV display going on and off when connecting to HDMI cable. The monitor itself is trying to connect but stays black. I also can see that the monitor is detected in about my Mac.

What is weird - sometimes it works and I get full 4K30Hz, but after sleep monitor stays black. 1080p monitors work without big issues. also deleting Colorsync profiles, most of the time i get the monitor to work.

I'm using OC 0.6.1 with newest kexts

i7 10510U with UHD Graphics

Current config: see screenshot

I've attached a log with lots of IGFB erros, but don't understand a thing.

I get the following errors in my log:

Lilu) Lilu   patcher: @ failed to solve __ZN31AppleIntelFramebufferController17IsTypeCOnlySystemEv, err 2
(Lilu) WhateverGreen      igfx: @ failed to route IsTypeCOnlySystem

Where should I look to figure out what the problem is?

@vit9696 Hi, I'd like to report an issue about IsTypeCOnlySystem related function. I am using UHD620 (ig-platform-id: 00001659), and tested on both macOS10.14.6 and macOS10.15.6.

I get these errors in my system log:

2020-10-25 06:10:30.944449-0400 localhost kernel[0]: (Lilu) Lilu patcher: @ failed to solve __ZN31AppleIntelFramebufferController17IsTypeCOnlySystemEv, err 2
2020-10-25 06:10:30.944453-0400 localhost kernel[0]: (Lilu) WhateverGreen igfx: @ failed to route IsTypeCOnlySystem

I don't have -igfxtypec boot-args. Could you have a check?

I just noticed I am having the exact same issue with @pkdesign

Hi all,

Does anyone know how to fix? Is there anyway to increase more logging to find out what could be leading to these IOGraphicsAccelerator2 failure?

Thanks

So is there still no support for Laptops with Discrete only Graphics and Intel Integrated Graphics which are disabled by default in many legacy gaming Laptops and possible future gaming laptops.  I am speaking for example the Asus G750JX which has Nvidia GTX 770m Discrete only Graphics or for example an older Dell XPS M1530 with only Nvidia GS 8400 Discrete only graphics and no Intel Integrated Graphics.  I am still able to get LCD brightness to work in Catalina 10.15.7 using Rehabman's AppleBacklightFixup.kext but it would be nice to get this to work with WEG alone with supported flags.

I Posted more specifics about 10 pages back.

Dear all,

I am trying to update my System for BigSur and for that I started updating Clover and all kext. With Clover 5115 everything looks fine, my primary monitor (via HDMI) and my secondary monitor (via DVI) work fine.

After updating Clover to 5126 my HDMI monitor is switched off and my DVI monitor becomes the primary one. I used different settings and boot flags, but this won't change. Finally, I gathered the debug logs (see attachments Lilu_Clover5126.txt and Lilu_Clover5115.txt) for WEG and Lilu with both Clover versions and I can see some differences here.

Any idea how can I get my HDMI primary monitor back?

BTW: my graphics card is a XFX Radeon 280x, which needs to load a new BIOS via Clover. This is also the reason why I can't use OpenCore...

Where should I look to figure out what the problem is?

When I do a Geekbench Compute test with my AMD RX590 selected  Metal after boot my score is around 38000 which is really low for this card. But when I put my Computer to sleep and do the same test after wake the Computer again I have scores like 52000 and 54000 what is almost similar to Windows. So something is strange here. I use OpenCore 6.4 at the moment and I have the low scores already a while. Today I found out that after wake sleep the scores are "normal". I have attached my config. May be that is a bug and could be solved in the future?

Well it is not "normal" but consistent with what I observe with my RX580. If I run the GB5 straight after booting, I get around 25000 score but if  macOS goes to sleep and wakes, and then I run GB, I get around 42000. I have had this for a long time. It is the same whether I boot via Clover or OC so it is not boot loader related. It does not appear to be WEG related either since I get the same result if I disable WEG.

Interestingly, LUXMARK scores are NOT affected - that is, same score before and after a system wake.

Many folks have this problem and some do not and so the cause is obvious.

Hai, i have mobo gigabyte H110M S2 and i5 6500 + intel hd 530. This mobo only have 1 VGA port, and i don't have any vga card. So how can iu add support for this kind output ?

from what i read :

Quote

VGA Support

In most cases with Intel Skylake and newer it works by default.
For Ivy Bridge and possibly other generations there are the options to patch your connectors with the following:
06020000 02000000 30000000 // Option 1
06020000 01000000 30000000 // Option 2
On OS X 10.8.2 and newer it is impossible to have VGA on Ivy Bridge systems.
Hot-plugging VGA usually does not work.
In case this doesn't help - there are no other known solutions at this time.

But from my experience, i always have black screen everytime i boot with proper configuration.

I'Ve some strange issue with the latest kext. System boots normal in verbose, but at the time when apple logo appears(see it very dimmed) the display goes black and stays so for few minutes and gets back to normal again.

With older versions is everything ok.
