Guys,

I need help. First hackintosh and so far just struggling.

System information

Ryzen 1800x (CPU frequency locked at 3.6gHz in UEFI)[

Motherboard Asus Crosshair VI Hero

32GB RAM

GTX 1080 Ti

I have watched the videos, Read the posts, made (and remade and remade and remade) installer USBs, tried to use a cloned drive, and have had no luck getting past the apple logo screen. I can get through the verbose although there is an issue at the end which I have pictured.

options ncpi=0x3000 busratio=36 -v -s keepsyms=1 debug=0x100 kextlog=0xffff

Error shown in verbose

post-2190016-0-45598300-1500608007_thumb.jpg

where verbose ends

post-2190016-0-94105200-1500608029_thumb.jpg

where it hangs out after with no more progress.

I got a gt 210 today and tried to boot but encountered some issues. First the GT 210 identifies itself as a 8600 gs in windows device manager. Also I can not get this card even to display even the bios and am not sure if it is even working (granted it is designed for windows 7). I tried to install this driver: http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/87988/which should support it but led to the deletion of the drivers for the 1070 (which required me to remove the motherboard battery). When booting whatever I do it does not boot, but stops where I should type the words but does not let me type giving me a list of similar error messages relating to "Application 3 not avaliable" I am not sure what to do to get the 210 to work or why it is not booting (I did try to redo everything using the new folders) and also where clover 4114 is as on the website I have only found 4091. Thanks :)

Gt 210 is a helper card not for the main installation. Your might run into many problems because of this

Hello everyone,

Thank you for your help ^^ I managed to install my Hack with AMD Ryzen :D

Here is the link for Geekbench

Begin with CPU overclocked at 3.8Ghz

https://browser.geekbench.com/v4/cpu/3453482

Then push it to 3.9Ghz ^^

https://browser.geekbench.com/v4/cpu/3454051

Don't hesitate if you have some problems, I'm willing to help :)

Edit : I don't understand why my score in memory test is so low? I have 16Gb DDR4 at 3066 Mhz and the overall score is just 4500

I take a look at an i3 test and they have around 9000 ....

My specs are :

- AMD Ryzen 1700x

- Asus prime x370

- Vengeance 16 Gb 3200 Mhz

I had the same issue as jgperson.

I tried with nv_disable =1 (as I have nvidia) and npci=0x2000 busratio=38 -v

Try npci=0x3000 busratio=30

Inject nvidia for installation only and select those 5 potions when you press space on your keyboard

I recreated the usb installer, injected nvidia and added the 3 args i forgot, but nothing changed

Do you have any older graphics cards to try?      Pascal needs web drivers and you need system to be working to download drivers and configure correctly.    A cheap GT210, GT710, 8400gs $30 US would probably help to get the system working so you can install web drivers.    Performance of the Pascal cards with Risen in mackintosh is lacking and benchmarks are low compared to Intel CPU systems.

For first time setup the Pascal users have the most trouble, $30 can save a lot of headache and agony for the user and also the folks trying to help.

Honestly If you could upload a config.plist file that works with yours I would appreciate it.

I have an old card I could use, but my system is watercooled with no easy access to the PCI slots. I just know I need it to work. :(

:)

I will still pass for a "raba joy" but nV Pascal works badly on Intel CPU and AMD, no one can advise the nV GPU honestly for macOS, even a GTX 1080 is not able to do what I show on the video attached :)

You will have much better results of current use with an old HD 4670 or HD 6670 :)

You have a visual comfort without any equal :)

Donc PQ, dis moi, for 980 GTX, it's better no?

I'm planning to sell my 980 and buy a new rx580, I know that I need at least a helper card to boot, however, I fear that in Asus Prime X370 Pro there is no option to prioritize helper card (like boot from iGPU first)

So helper card couldn't work.

Do you think that it's enough to place the helper card at pcie slot 1 for it to be booted from first?

Thank you in advance for you answer

oh !!

it's mine  :thumbsup_anim:

no problem it's oob

the RX 580 is oob ?

Keep the 980 as it is much more powerful than an RX 580 on Windows;), I do not currently have motherboard to 2 PCIe but my old motherboard S 2011 / i7 3930k had 4 ports PCIe and j I had a small drop of fps OpenGL but nothing dramatic, I had a monitor per GPU, the start was Visible on the main monitor (HD 7950).
I had done the same thing on a FX 8350 and everything was working properly too :)

bad google translate !!

There is a user with a 1070 as a helper card for RX 480 dual boot.    Windows uses 1070, OS uses 1070 as helper card for RX 480.

If you can wait for Vega, it is working on a X99 i7 6800K as single card or dedicated graphics card in High Sierra, it works in Sierra as well but needs a 0x00000 ID fix.

Would an AMD R9 390 be good to install the OS and Drivers? Because right now i can't buy the GT210 but my friend can loan me his 390 from his gaming rig

GT210 in slot 0 and RX 480 in slot 1.

I connect the gt210 with VGA cable and RX 480 with HDMI. My AOC monitor switches automatically but I also have a Samsung that I need to use the display switch on the back of monitor. There is a HDMI switch box for multiple input to a single monitor with a remote for like $20-$30 US on Amazon.

There is no need to switch cables to and from as rumored by some Nvidia fans that run threads for AMD cards, it's a real simple setup and Polaris cards run most apps very well. I know of many people that switched from Nvidia to RX cards for FCPX because they need it for work.

With Intel I get very good performance because of IGPU support and 16 PCIE Lanes, with Ryzen and helper card I only have 8 PCIe Lanes because of the GT210 using 8 lanes as a helper card. Ryzen is about 15-20 % performance drop compared to Intel for RX cards.

Vega! I can't wait for the $400-$700 vegas to come out. I almost bought one of the Frontier editions today, but about 2 weeks to go for launch I'm holding off. The bit miner craze is starting to crash a little and more cards are getting returned so there are deals starting to pop up for RX cards. Got this RX 460 for $86 US last year $140. I tested in my pentium and I got dual RX 460s working Luxmark Ball score 12,700, RX 480 single card is 14,500.

That's good to know! Amd cards are the way to go ! lol I think my r9 270 requires a helper card the method you described is the same I use. But I just use that single card boot via hdmi then it gets stuck on the wallpaper the swich to display port then I can log in. It's annoying but I can manage

You may need both, I think the R9 390 and R9 290 295 series are like the RX or Polaris cards, they need IGPU or helper card. This started in El Capitan with the R9 mobile cards m295? For Mac OSX.

R9 280(X) R9 270(X) and HD 7xxx, 8xxx, 6xxx cards work oob, more or less. There may be some minor fixes but you don't need IGzpU or helper card.

I would recommend a GT 210, 710 to get system working (if you can return it easily), you may be able to get the 980 working well enough to get by until there is a fix or until Vega is tested.

I too am waiting for Vega very impatiently... I may get a 280x just to tide me over until Vega prices seem reasonable to me :)

I've never been one for AMD cards, but I certainly don't mind having my 1070 as a helper!

Is possible put a gtx 9** ( pci express port 2  ) along side to my gtx 1080( pci express port 1  ) and only use the gts9** on osx with the native drivers to get full speed ? and later switch the monitor conection for gaming on windows with the gtx 1080 ?

Maybe if your monitors has two different ports and you use one for each graphics card?

yes , i have dp and hdmi inputs in the monitor ... this will be nice, becuse the performance of the gtx1080 is unacceptable under osx.
