10x0 works better in intel than ryzen hackintosh. Amd cards works better than nvidia cards on ryzen..... I did a few videos back then I get better performance on my 1080ti on an old intel machine 60+fps than my ryzen build. The problem is that OpenGL is not working properly on our ryzen builds.

no, no, no, false,  GTX 950 = 60 fps with i7 3930k El Capitan // 90 fps Win10 ;) the result is bad on Intel and AMD

HD 7950 (925 Mhz) = 106 fps (CPU @ 3,65) Win10 and 89 fps on Maveriks/Yosemite/El Capitan and 75 fps on Sierra

GTX 1050=106 fps Win10 with CPU AMD // 40,5 fps with Sierra  :hysterical:

the problem is other,  we must not generalize ;)

Problem OpenGL nVdriverWeb for 10x0 Pascal ;)

That is not generalizing, I am just telling you the facts.

Numbers you provided are right, but you are not telling the whole story. Yes, 7950 does 80 FPS on Ryzen, BUT it also does 120 FPS on i7 7700K... and that is the problem. And it is same with rest.. Pascal nVidias does around 40 in Ryzen, and around 80 on Intel. And yes, drivers from nVidia are terrible..

But , there might be also one thing, that Cinebench is completly wrong :D because my 1080Ti does 150 FPS on Win + Ryzen.. and very strange that you can get 120 from 7950 + i7 7700 on Hackintosh.. That card is like 3x slower than 1080Ti.. Hmm..

And please,  can ANYONE answer me for this:

IS IMESSAGE WORKING ON RYZEN?

IS XCODE WORKING ON RYZEN?

Asked this 3 times, nobody ever answered me.. So I suppose two big NOs? Because I was not able to run any of them.. So just my lack of skill (very possible) or this things just dont do well on Ryzen? (XCode actually works for a while but then kernel panic comes.. :/ )

Yes 120 fps with CPU at 5 Ghz and GPU at 1400 Mhz ;)

it's no problem, We all know that a 1080 is more powerful than an old HD 7950 / R9 280, the support is disastrous because of bad drivers coded with the feet !!

The problem is that people confuse OS X and Windows, the clock of the GPU and CPU are also able to increase the benchs according to their speeds, but the bench, we do not care, we want something that works well, That's all, nV works badly on OS X, it's obvious and we know why. The example of the 7700k is not good, CPU P4 which has worse performance than a 6700k at equal speed, and what about the new 7900x !!!

NV is just good for compute cuda and Adobe (mercury), that's all, it's the observation that I make ;)

Not good OpenGL and OpenCL, I had a lot of CPU Intel (2100/2400/2600/1230/1245 etc, Ryzen is really very powerful but lack of optimization with the kernel, it is obvious, the graphics performance is very good.

Apple does not endorse nV and knows it all ;)

for Xcode ??

iMessage, no works :)

GFXMetal GTX 1050 (120 fps) fait mieux qu'une HD 7950 ;)

edit:

Première pro works with AMD GPU and nV GPU :)

small video Screen Flow  x265 :)

https://www.partage-fichiers.com/upload/juu2vqdd

With nV you can not do this, video capture 4k 60 fps with Screen Flow exported to 2k video 60 fps;)

The USB installs a fresh copy of Sierra, but it does not have the "Extensions, Frameworks, Kernels installed.    You need to basically repeat the process on the fresh install following Post #2 Post Disk Edit folder.     The USB will not boot the install because the Kernel and other files are not installed.     The USB will only work for install it is not intended to be used for booting a finished install.    You need to install Clover 4077 on the SSD or HDD to boot the System.

For a RX card and some of the newer AMD cards 290 295X you need a helper card like a GT210, 710, 730 etc..

R( 270, 270X and R9 280, 280X or HD 7XXX and 8XXX cards don't need any helper cards and run pretty close to the RX cards because they have the full 16 PCIe lanes for the single card.    The Gt210 and RX combo limits both cards to 8 PCIe lanes, so there is a 15-20% performance loss for the RX cards.    If you can't find a used AMD card like these the RX will work with GT210 but not to full potential, 75-80 fps in cinebencz and Gedekbench Compute 115,000.

The current solution for single RX cards is a bios flash.

****Warning bios flashing can cause bricking of your card, so only do this if you feel competent and can afford the loss if something goes wrong*****

If you get a dual Bios RX card ( check specifications for switchable dual bios) you can Flash one of the bios with EFi only boot and use the RX like a real Mac in single card mode.   For windows you switch the bios on the card before booting into windows.

I added a Radeon R9 Fury X to my Ryzentosh to get full performance on video. It works beautifully!!!! ~100 FPS on cinebench scores and Final Cut Pro is flying compared to using the 980ti it's replacing.

With that said, can you please point me in the right direction on getting the R9 Fury X working without using helper card by means of VBIOS mods? I've been searching and can't find it anywhere.

(still have my 980ti in there as helper card LOL).

When you say 'helper card' do you mean to say that you have anything plugged into it? or is it just there to help... mysteriously . Sorry I don't understand what exactly a helper card does.

I am very glad to hear that FCPX is working well! Have you tested anything else (eg. DaVinci Resolve etc)??

Some modern AMD cards (like Fury X) boot to a black screen unless you have a primary "Helper" card. This issue is not encountered with Intel CPU's with integrated graphics because the integrated chip works as helper cards.

With Ryzen there is no internal graphics so a cheap card is needed to mimic the internal graphics chip.

yeah!! Great performance with FCPX. Haven't tried anything else yet.

Well that isn't too big an issue. I have some old cards laying around and I can always pick up another if needed. Thanks for the update! If you get a chance to download and try DaVinci Resolve I'd really appreciate that - it was crashing for me every time and I need it for work :(

Hi again. I tried the commands you referred to (i.e. mount -uw and fsck -fy). I can't enter them. After 5 keystrokes (not echoed on screen), the boot continued and then freezed. Alternatively, I waited 30 minutes at -sh-3.2#, but the boot didn't budge until I entered something. When I did (as mentioned), it moved forward a little and then freezed.

Did you type in the command mount -uw and fsck -fy mentioned in the tutorial?? When you get to that line you said? Mine didn't ask me to do that because I already had done it.... once you type those commands the test will scroll then stop then hit exit

Please write your specs in your signature line. It will help for others to help you out if they have similar equipment.

Motherboard, CPU, graphics card(s) Ethernet, etc...

What Ethernet does your board have? You may need to find a kext to fix it. You can add it to Clover EFI folder in the Kexts 10.12 or other folder. It can also be added to System/Library/Extensions.

USB, what options do you have, 2.0, 3.0, 3.1 (A, C)? You may need to add USBkexts or patches in clover for USB errors.

Check this out Vega cards are working in HighSierra without IGPU or Helper card on a 6800K xeon setup.

Also, heres the Fury guide more or less.

Thank you. Updated my signature. I don't know what ethernet is on the mobo, but I'll find out. The mobo (Asus B350M-A) has USB 2.0 and 3.0. Which USB kext should I use?

I really hope this change on the next osx or drivers or kernel.......

I will swap my board soon for a asus crosshair hero VI , someone have some experience whit this model ?

Heres some benches with the RX 480 using Ryzen 7 1700 and also a few of my Pentium G3258 Haswell.   Haswell can run dual RX cards in Luxmark but they do not run like a crossfire setup in openGl apps.

The Luxmark scores are fairly equal but Geekbench favors Intel by far.    I threw in the GT210 for good Measure.

Check your Ethernet options with that.   The good thing about the AB350 boards is they have older Ethernet options which have ready made fixes.   Some of these new versions may not be solved yet.    These "Kiler" ethernet options may work in windows but play tricks in OS X.

Hello everyone,

Thank you all so much for your efforts and contributions. Special thank to Gigamaxx and Bronya ^^

I read all 28 pages until now, and I tried to search for my problem, but no good, so I hope that someone has already experienced this problem :

I try to boot from USB (the USB is on USB 2 front port - I doubt that it could be the problem) and I have error as following :

http://imgur.com/a/1JXsp(I don't know how to display it ....)

AppleUSBXHCI::assignDeviceAddressGated: device at address 2 is not a hub
AppleUSB20HubPort AppleUSBHostPort::disconnected: persistent enumeration failures

I will try with USB 3 at the back this afternoon ... may be it could solve the problem

Thank you for your helps
