Unfortunately I don't know if Ryzen is going to be a good product for me :(

After trying again and again, I finally got it working to the point where it was stable. I have NVIDIA drivers working, my GTX1070 is fully recognized (all 8GB), CUDA and all. I migrated my applications over last night so I could try them out for stability and here's what I got:

- Heaven benchmark <30fps (I got better in my 08' mac pro with a GTX770)

- Valley Benchmark crashes on every start, unusable

- DaVinci Resolve crashes on every start, completely unusable

Unfortunately as I need Resolve for my work, I may be faced with either switching to Windows or build an Intel hack. I don't really want to do either, but I'm at a bit of a dead end. Could anyone else download Resolve and see if it's not just me?

I recently ran across this but its labeled for 10.9, 10.10 maybe it will do something?  The latest Clover Configurator.

I haven't seen a fix for it yet, I got a r9 270x meanwhile the issue is fixed...

Has there been any progress with running sierra high on our ryzen builds?

Hey, is anyone else getting a ton of "Too many corpses being created" when trying to install? I followed the guide almost to a T, using the nvidia inject config.plist.

I also get "port 1 unspported protocol USB 03.10" sometimes.

Clover options:

nv_disable=1

verbose

Hardware:

ryzen 1700

nvidia gtx 1070

asrock ab350 itx

2x8 g.skill trident 3200mhz

First time installing you have to use the 5 commands mentioned in the tutorial including verbose , don't use USB 2.0 connect your USB directly to your mobo

Too many problems with Ryzen so far, stick with Intel.

It's a hit and miss... why are you here then?

Hi. I followed Gigamaxx's latest tutorial/video, but couldn't install Sierra. The USB bootloader freezes at "kext com.apple.iokit.IOHIDFamily is already loaded." Please see attached picture. Also, I used Rehabman's NVMe kext. However, that didn't help.

I'd appreciate some help. Thank you in advance.

My system spec: Ryzen 1800X, Asus B350M-A, NVIDIA Titan X (Pascal), G.Skill DDR4 2400, Samsung 960 EVO.

once you entered mount and fsky command did you wait until the text stopped scrolling then typed in exit to continue??

Im sure you did everything good just try again once you get to that text type exit then enter

Instead of creating the USB installer, try the following:

1. Connect your Hard Drive (boot drive for Ryzen) to your working Mac.

2. Run the Sierra Installer App on your working Mac and select the Hard Drive you connected as the destination. The Mac will install, restart, and finish on the setup screen. Shut it down.

3. Restart back to your working Mac. Now do the disk edits as normal, run install Clover (making sure to install on the Ryzen Drive), run kext wizard and repair permissions in Disk Utility (or Disk Warrior).

4. Add a Clover Plist to your EFI/Clover folder. With Clover Configurator select Boot > Verbose and make sure your npci and busratio are both set correctly. For an Nvidia card (GTX 1xxx etc) try using nv_disable=1 and inject Nvidia if you are having issues. That combination worked for me.

4. Eject your Ryzen Drive from your working Mac and install it in your Ryzen machine. You can try the boot using Single User mode the first time, but I believe it worked for me without it if I remember correctly.

I realize not everyone has the ability to install Sierra using a working Mac, but for those who do I hope this helps!

Maybe I can create a completely fresh install of Sierra and upload it as an image for those who cannot install...

I tried this method and it worked for me :D

But now issue is that in about mac it shows MSI GeForce GTX 1060 but 7mb.

Also ethernet is not working :(

What do I do?

Too many problems with Ryzen so far, stick with Intel.

I too have been struggling.. Ive even picked up an old 5770 Graphics card to test... I love the Ryzen chip so far with windows, very snappy awesome benches with 1080ti but can't get web drivers to work with the 1080, the 640gt world well OOB but not quartz / accelerated graphics... Also my net looses connectivity after idling for a few moments and rebooting is the only way to reactivate it :(

Hi bbmatias. Thanks for replying. I watched your video. On my system, the loading process stops at -sh-3.2#. It doesn't proceed unless I enter keystrokes. The keystrokes don't show up on screen (i.e. as they did in your video when you typed "exit"). After I press a few keys, the loading process moves on but freezes at "kext com.apple.iokit.IOHIDFamily is already loaded." Any idea on what to try next? Thank you.

I got web drivers To work with my 980ti, however it didn't perform as well as it should on OpenGL applications. I mainly use my computer for graphical applications and video editing so I had two options: going Intel or going AMD all the way (even on Intel hackintoshes, AMD video cards work better on Final Cut Pro). I stuck with the latter and switched my 980ti for a Fury X and never looked back. Now everything works smoothly as it does on an Intel hackintosh.

For the Ethernet problem, i bought an EL CHEAPO Intel Gigabit CT card and all Ethernet problems are gone. The problem with the Ethernet is not really the fact that it's Ryzen, it's the drivers used to make the i211 card to work on hackintosh.

There is performance issue with nvidia card mentioned in the tutorial also there is a way to install web drivers mentioned in the tutorial. As for internet you might want to buy a compatible pcie card if your Ethernet is not supported

Did you type in the command mount -uw and fsck -fy mentioned in the tutorial?? When you get to that line you said? Mine didn't ask me to do that because I already had done it.... once you type those commands the test will scroll then stop then hit exit

Yeah Sam, I kinda got that feeling from my readings here... Sadly for the time being as I use my hack for my all day system (6700k intel) which performs very well I must say, but really wanted to Use the new Ryzen CPU to power it.. Unfortunately it just is too early for me to switch over :(. I know these guys here that are a million times smarter than I will work out these Bugs and get it stable ,I have the utmost confidence. But for the time being I have decided to put the 2 systems side by side.. I am using my intel hack as always and have installed the Ryzen system into its own case and using it where I can for the time being.. I mainly wanted the HP for my rendering for high res image processing for my business needs.. I do love Mac OS so much more just the overall feel of it makes me happier.. Ive tried going the linux route, even found a decent build (Elementary) but just too much grub for my liking... So For now Ill wait, I did manage to get my network fixed , don't know how but it no longer loses connection ?

I have come to the conclusion I will wait till Vega makes its debut in a couple weeks.. Hoping its as fast or faster than my 980ti or Titan cards... Im routing for you guys but I don't think Im much of a help right now and getting angrier by the day isn't helping matters lol

check many post back we couldnt get to the bottom of it. Hopefully on the next round of web drivers. You can use your nvidia card if you dont need to do any heavy work, but i ended up buying a r9 270x for some reason our ryzen hackintosh prefer amd card with great performace.

What is your performance on Cinebench with Fury? I have seen day ago that 7950 on Intel platform 120 fps, on my ryzen only 80.. not talking about {censored} nVidias which no matter what card you have, you will not get over 40-45 fps in Cinebench with ryzen.. with Intel.. no problem..

I have to thank you guys for being so helpful for so long. @bbmatias3 is this just using inject AMD or something like that and you get perfect performance? Looks like I will be selling my 1070 for an AMD card.

On a side note: Has ANYONE gotten audio working?? That's obviously something huge that I need to work to use the PC as my daily computer.

Where can I download Clover r4077 version?

Clover 4114 now has all the Ryzen support you need for Sierra (boot64efi, Clover folder). You will need to edit the kexts and add the kernels but Slice and Bronya have been working to make Clover support AMD CPus.

P.S. It's in the Post install Disk Edit package.

Thank you Gigamaxx. Yes I found it in the post install Disk Edit package after I posted. My bad.

Good to hear about working on Clover AMD support.

Till then I will be using r4077 and follow your instructions.

Cool, good luck and keep us posted.

@bbmatias3 would you by any chance be able to download Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve and just try to start the program on your Hack with the R9 270x? I am looking for an R9 temporary card for myself to use until the Vega Pro series is released (December?).

It worked fine for me during the setup, but as soon as I finished the setup it would immediately crash. I want to be sure the R9 works well enough for me to use in the mean time:)

no, no, no, false,  GTX 950 = 60 fps with i7 3930k El Capitan // 90 fps Win10 ;) the result is bad on Intel and AMD

HD 7950 (925 Mhz) = 106 fps (CPU @ 3,65) Win10 and 89 fps on Maveriks/Yosemite/El Capitan and 75 fps on Sierra

GTX 1050=106 fps Win10 with CPU AMD // 40,5 fps with Sierra  :hysterical:

the problem is other,  we must not generalize ;)

Problem OpenGL nVdriverWeb for 10x0 Pascal ;)
