Nvidia Web Driver updates for macOS High Sierra (UPDATE Nov 13, 2020)

Hi, I was having an occasional instant-reboot on startup problem with my Nvidia graphics card (it happened just as my GPU was being initialised during boot).

I now think this was caused on my system by macOS sometimes falling back on the older, out-of-date, Nvidia drivers in S/L/E rather than the newly installed web ones in L/E.

To fix this, I disabled Nvidia Graphics injection in Clover by adding this to config.plist:

<key>Graphics</key>
<dict>
	<key>Inject</key>
	<dict>
	  	<key>Nvidia</key>
  		<false/>
	</dict>
</dict>

I had this problem on my hackintosh, which consists of a GTX 1070 with an Asus Ranger VIII Z170 motherboard. I've had no instant reboots since adding this code. Hope this might help someone :)

yes install fine in 17A405 without any info.plist modify

I was trying out again and this time I installed 10.13.1 beta 2 without any problem. But I'm not able to edit the Nvidia Installer (remove the check OS version). There is something wrong with the commands (to open and close pkg) on the terminal or im not doing something well ?

Hello, in HS I tried the direct update to 378.10.10.10.15.120 from the nvidia driver manager panel,

but during the installation a warning message pops up "NVida Web Driver installer has encountered a problem"

is it okay to continue the installation? Or will I have a driver installed half-way and then a fix is needed?

Thanks.

My apologies Chris and Fabio. I have already discovered the reason for the error. I was not erasing the code correctly ?

Thanks

Try this one

Thanks Pavo,

I'm with 10.13.1 beta 2 (17B35a). With WebDriver you provided... 15.120 I can not get graphics acceleration even by editing the nvidiastartupweb kext accordingly.

Is there any more secret currently or does not work even with my OS version?

@chris1111, pretty awesome scripts.

I took what chris1111 had and made it a automated process now. It will now automatically change the Distribution version setting to match the macOS system version that the script is ran on. Tell me what you guys think, credit to Chris1111 to for the unpackaging and repackaging scripts.

I have done another one little bit more complex for extract the payload in the nividia package

the guys  have a possibility to edit the Distribution, Script ,  kext and repackaging the all thing

I just test for 5 time now in test disk successfully.

I clean the packages and post tonight with a readme

This is Obsolete use This New ➥ Nvidia Payload Packager

Here the Nvidia Payload-Packager

To do this I am using three tools

1- pax.gz archives

2- productbuild

3- pkgbuild

nvidia10.png

For Unpack and Repack the Package after editing ( Ditribution,  Payload and Scripts )

It's up to you to choose what you want

Follow instruction in the Video

View in full screen for better look

Let me know if this works well for you

Enjoy!

Troubleshooting : if you made a mistake by dropping your file or if you forget a few things, the script will not work.

You must clean up the folders and restart the process.

See also how to remove Unnecessary flag for SIP in preinstall script

that's what I think. Install 10 time for test with
