pkdesign Posted November 29, 2017 Share Posted November 29, 2017 AFAIK Nvidia has limitations for reso with vesa mode; my native display is 1366x768 however only 1360x768 is max supported << so I use the last one selected on Clover GUI. So, choose closest one to ur native disp reso, I guess. Terminal: bdmesg 0:464 0:045 0 640x480 attr=3BF - ok, 640x480, working, highest, pref=0 0:466 0:001 1 800x600 attr=3BF - ok, 800x600, working, highest, pref=1 0:467 0:001 2 1024x768 attr=3BF - ok, 1024x768, working, highest, pref=2 0:478 0:010 3 1360x768 attr=3BF - ok 0:478 0:000 BV new mode: 2 1024x768 ..... ..... .. 1:773 0:000 === [ InitScreen ] ======================================== 1:773 0:000 SetScreenResolution: 1360x768 - setting Mode 3 1:773 0:000 BV new mode: 3 1360x768 2:070 0:297 Video mode change to mode #3: Success 2:132 0:061 Console modes reported: 4, available modes: 2:132 0:000 - [01]: 80x25 2:132 0:000 - [03]: 100x31 2:132 0:000 - [04]: 170x40 (current mode) 2:132 0:000 SetScreenResolution: 1360x768 - already set ..... ..... .. Yup, exactly. My card only has a 1280x1024 VESA mode and that is all I get at Clover boot. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

fallen00sniper Posted November 30, 2017 Share Posted November 30, 2017 I just saw a notification in the top right of my screen saying security update installed, I was testing sleep and my sound was low so I rebooted to see if it still was low or not and Nvidia web drivers tell my incompatible with this version of macOS. Guess this means my install is borked after only having it up a couple days, unless there is a update available for macOS since the version of the drivers above my post don't work. vatogonzalez Posted November 30, 2017 Share Posted November 30, 2017 Simple script for downloading & installing nvidia webdriver curl https://raw.githubusercontent.com/mcmZero/macOSBin/master/install_webdriver.sh | sh - You Sir, are top class! You've just ended a 5 hour nonstop trial and error marathon and are officially my hero for this week! After the latest semi-mandatory 2017-001 update of OSX 10.13.1, my build number was on 17B1003 and the Nvidia drivers didn't feel particularly like making my GTX do anything. My pretty much maxed out 2009 MacPro is purring like a kitten again. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
