[pre-release] macOS High Sierra

When you compare the MD5 values of the binaries inside AppleAHCIPort kexts v328 vs v329, you will find that they are different...

We will have to wait for the final release before knowing if regressing the kext still works  :).  It seems v329 is still buggy on quite a few older hardwares eg

  1. Downgrade only AppleAHCIPort v329 to v328 (restore original IOAHCIFamily with IOAHCIBlockStorage kext in /S/L/E, repair permissions & rebuild kext cache etc)
  2. Enable Trim with Clover KextsToPatch....

Thanks @Fusion71au

Wait and see the final release.  :)

@PMheart

DP9 seems unstable for my unsupported CPU (some random reboots)

Have you checked if something is changed in dp9 kernel for unsupported cpu?

Thank you for your precious help

:-)

Hi, nice to meet you again.

I checked the kernel of DP9 just now. Unfortunately I didn't see any change related to XCPM.

Well, technically all patches are critical, you can't even boot while lacking of anyone. As for the instability, I'm not sure why. Which patches are you currently using?

(To avoid bothering others, let's go on in private, I've sent a PM to you.)

I have an Asus BT400 USB Bluetooth dongle and I just noticed that I am not able to turn off Bluetooth "in place". As in: I need to click "turn off" and reboot my system in order to actually turn off Bluetooth. I don't experience this issue on Sierra, as Bluetooth turns off immediately.

Does someone know a fix for this?

17A360a runs fine here (APFS/SSD) but i got one problem: as soon i add other slave (hfs-) HD`s my system wont boot. No mather what boot partition i select in bios etc. It doesnt even recognize the USB-High Sierra Installer/cant boot from there. I would appreciate any solution for this.

Can you clarify what you mean by add? E.g. Does it mean make it into a Fusion Drive? or add the HDD to an existing port on the MB? or connect an ext HDD via SATA or USB?

I've heard APFS on a Fusion Drive (e.g. iMacs with 3TB Fusion drives are not supported).

I mean when i connect the HDD to my computer via SATA (it seems to be one HDD only actually which got my system stuggeling, it works with the other HDD`s). No Fusion Drive here. With this HDD connected my systems hangs sometimes already at the first bios screen, usb doesnt work & black screen or boots to clover but also black without any options to select.

Interesting. I would make the USB a secondary priority for now. The first should be the SATA. Just to be sure, have you checked the battery that backs up the BIOS and reset the BIOS but checking that you've reset to AHCI.

Update - I'm assuming that you've checked the boot order of drives in your BIOS.

Fixed. Somehow i could boot from a 10.13 dp9 backup HDD and delete the outdated efi partition on this other disk who caused the issue. I can boot again now from my main system SSD and all other HDD`s are connected, no issues.

It seems like old EFI partitions can cause trouble when u try to boot in new 10.13 dp9 (SSD) and still got that old EFI partition (sata) connected too.

That's really great. Glad you got it fixed. :)
