fusion71au
yes sir i had another failed firmware update no idea whats wrong i removed everything you said with no luck What is the output of diskutil list in terminal? From your installer log, the problem seems to be the "non Apple standard" EFI partition on your Windows drive (disk4s2).... Encountered disk: SKDisk { BSD Name: disk4s1 Mount point: Not Mounted Role: kSKDiskRoleNoRole Type: kSKDiskTypeOtherRecognizable_Windows Recovery } Encountered disk: SKDisk { BSD Name: disk4s2 Mount point: Not Mounted Role: kSKDiskRoleBooter Type: kSKDiskTypeEFI } Disk is an internal ESP, will repair. Whole disk: SKDisk { BSD Name: disk4 Mount point: Not Mounted Role: kSKDiskRolePhysicalDisk Type: kSKDiskTypeGPTWholeDisk } Failed to repair ESP: (null) A "normal" Apple EFI is the first partition on the disk and 200MB in size. Without it, the installer can't perform the firmware upgrade.... OSIInstallElement <OSIUpdateFirmwareElement: 0x7fbeb2f995f0> errored out:Error Domain=com.apple.osinstall Code=513 "An error occurred while updating firmware." Try removing/disable in BIOS? the Windows drive during the installation of High Sierra (assuming you have another drive in the system with a valid EFI System Partition of 200MB as the first partition) or use @crazybirdy's installer method to bypass the firmware check altogether. 3 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/324194-pre-release-macos-high-sierra/page/118/#findComment-2482423 Share on other sites

dehjomz
its odd that I need to remove the windows drive now Apple is going backwards again My *exact* feelings when I found out that removing my NVME drive allows the installation to proceed. I'm just hoping the next beta(s)(and final release) don't have this "feature." vrondena
I have several of them. Here's the one I ended up using most often. It is for MacBookPro9,2, but SMBIOS shouldn't matter to get past the problem you had in your photo. Be sure to add your own serial number in SMBIOS and MLB and ROM in RtVariables. config-MacBookPro9,2.plist.zip ........it's the same old song....... I'm not sure have disabled properly the Nvidia card on dsdt . please someone helps me i boot high Sierra 10.13 dp4 (core installation) with this but no install on usb Archivio.zip Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/324194-pre-release-macos-high-sierra/page/118/#findComment-2482468 Share on other sites

In order to disable it, I used MacIASL patching and RehabMan's patch. Here's the patch: #Maintained by: RehabMan for: Laptop Patches #graphics_REG-disable.txt # The purpose of this patch is to add code to _REG in EC # to disable nvidia/Radeon # # The path of _OFF may have to be customized to match your SSDTs # The patch attempts to identify the correct _REG by using # the ACPI PNP identifier for the EC. into method label _REG parent_hid PNP0C09 insert begin //added to turn nvidia/radeon off\n If (LAnd(LEqual(Arg0,3),LEqual(Arg1,1)))\n {\n External(\_SB.PCI0.PEG0.PEGP._OFF, MethodObj)\n \_SB.PCI0.PEG0.PEGP._OFF()\n }\n end; If you're not using a custom DSDT, I'm not sure what you can do to disable your Nvidia GPU. do not tell me how to overcome the problem with the inability to install beta 6 on 756 You are having the same problem I had.
