- I've got my BIOS settings set as close to the ones in the tutorial here as possible. The only thing I'm unsure of is enabling/disabling the CSM setting, in which there isn't a clear setting for this within Dell's BIOS. Is this equivalent to enabling/disabling the legacy boot BIOS options?

I feel like I’ve run out of things to try, and there hasn’t been a clear answer online on what to do about the errors I’m getting. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated, as this is driving me insane!

So it looks like Pandora isn’t installing the latest version of Clover (R. 4220), so I reformatted my USB sticks, re-downloaded the Sierra installation app, and tried again. This time I ran Hermes in “createinstallmedia” mode, and then installed Clover separately into the USB drive using the EFI v2 bootloader in UEFI-only mode. Swapped out the Clover folder for the files here, etc, and it still gave me the FakeSMC rebuild error. Good news is that my USB 3.0 drive is no longer giving me the garbled text error, so I’ve switched to using that drive for this installation.

I then tried reformatting and creating the Sierra USB boot using this tutorial here

and installed to the USB by entering this command into terminal:

sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/USB --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app --nointeraction

I re-installed the Clover bootloader to the USB stick, and still got the error before freezing:

Here’s the rest of the viewable verbose log in case there’s anything important that I’m not seeing. There appear to be a few errors towards the bottom of the image, including a failure to bootstrap to path = /Library/LaunchAgents:

Running Clover in safe mode using the “-s” flag causes this error to come up instead before freezing:

considerRebuildOfPrelinkedKernel prebuild rebuild has expired

Still not entirely sure how to try to fix this.

someone got high sierra beta working in the past on this machine - so it is working... but not out of the box.

I should have reworded my question better. I was wondering if updating to 10.13 would break something on current 10.12.6. if yes, I just want to know what should I do in such a case. Thank you in advance.

Due the 4k sector patch I assume that the new APFS will completely destroys the nvme ssd partitions. That's why I am patiently waiting to upgrade to High Sierra

Updated to High Sierra on a XPS 13 9360 with 4k sector patch and Toshiba pci-e NVME. Didnt destroy anything.

Can anyone of you guys boot into recovery partition? I tried many times and it didn't work. The screen just becomes scrambled after 40 seconds or so. Is this due to the wrong kexts in the recovery hd partition? If so, how can I access those and change them? I need to disable SIP so I can use "Volta" to undervolt my CPU. Thanks.

Recovery partition working normally as the main system and booting process depends on Clover settings, kexts and DSDT/SSDT inside.

In Clover menu should be option to choose recovery partition, of course if it exist, but as option start from OSX installation stick. For my way I made Clover booting from BDU and now have excess through windows to clover as well.

Either I am not understanding Your replies or You didnt understood my question. I can see recovery HD partition from the Clover menu. When I try to boot into that recovery HD partition I cant due to some error. Screen just becomes garbled with text. I assumed that this happened because wrong kexts are loaded into the system from the recovery partition. The question is, how to change the kexts that are loaded when one is booting from the recovery partition?

Try boot recovery with boot argument -x. I think the problem is not because kext if system start normally.

This is not a problem of kext, this problem of abnormal loading OsxAptioFix2Drv. Try to to change slide to some another value, also you can try to use OsxAptioFixDrv-64.efi, but should be without OsxAptioFix2Drv

Before I had a same problem and fix it by change OsxAptioFixDrv from version 2 to version 1

The problem maybe related with Combojack application but i am not sure.

And this problem only happened in system sleep automatically.When i sleep manually it wont reboot.

Yes, and fix this issue by changing OsxAptioFix2Drv to version 1, of course without slide option. Now I am using version one for the main system as well.

This is very clearly a problem with the USB side of the Type-C port. You may be best off waiting for goodwin's Type-C solution.

The Verbstub commands are just checking the headphone jack for something plugged in once a second, which is by design.

Hello,if headset don't show mic option in system preferences panel have some method to solve.

ALCPlugfix can solve this automatically but when sleep alcplugfix dont work so i use combojack now but the display of headset mic display is wrong in system preferences panel.
