reece394
@Gymnae I was reading about you using AppleALC for audio instead of VerbStub and CodecCommander how is that for stability. Does the audio garble with an unplug replug of headphones as I have had problems with that before only the VerbStub way actually fixed the problems for me. If it works well you should let us know what you did to configure it as the VerbStub is the only kext I have in my Library/Extensions folder and would like to have my macOS as vanilla as possible as to make it as "upgrade proof" as I can. It would be nice to have a backup plan in case VerbStub etc breaks too as it is only a matter of time before Apple do big changes....
DFLC56
Good Evening guys, recently a friend and I got the XPS 9550 and I got a question about the wireless card, I completely understand that is not possible to use the Killer 1535 and that's fine, however, I would like to know if you could please recommend us a wireless card to use instead of that one. I've read that for the XPS 9560 they recommended the Dell Wireless 1830, will this card work normally with the XPS 9550 for this Hackintosh Set up? I've found this Website with more info https://hackintoshpro.com/wifi-for-hackintosh/, would you think those will work for the XPS 9550? @wmchrisCould you please let me know what type of wireless network card do you use for yours, Thank you in advance. The 9550 normally comes with the Dell Wireless 1830, so of course this card works. The Killer card is very rare. I've never seen a 9550 with it. However, this is only for the perfectionists or people with issues. I'm still running on the initial kexts on my personal machine and i have no issues regarding stability even after upgrading to 10.14.3. I just want to confirm that the latest modifications in the repo are working fine. I've updated my clover folder and removed the old kexts and booted into the os without problem. Moreover I've installed the latest security update and updated some kexts (AppleALC, Lilu) to the latest version.
mr. baltazar
Does the TB16 dock work with MacOS? Looking for a single-cable solution to have full desktop experience at home and then unplug one cable and be on the road. Thanks.

Looking for a single-cable solution to have full desktop experience at home and then unplug one cable and be on the road. Thanks. I would suggest to go with a WD15 Vs TB16. The TB 16 being thunderbolt does not work very well and only provides very limited functionality. The USB ports don't work and unplugging the dock while the machine is running causes the system to freeze/crash. Only thing I have working is external monitor with built in speaker and power via the connection. Tried the WD15 at work, and you can use all features. The only issue (which I haven't tested with tb16) is that both external monitors show the same display (mirrored) so effectively you get just one external display + one built-in (laptop display)
kennylauer
Coming up on a year now, still going strong! I seem to have both sleep (including clamshell open/close response) and native NVRAM working as of the public macOS Mojave release. I switched to AptioMemoryFix and VirtualSMC, and removed RC scripts and some unnecessary drivers from clover (mainly filevault related). All seems well! Anybody else have native NVRAM working? Is there any real benefit to this? Edited February 14, 2019 by kennylauer

reece394
Caution when updating to 10.14.4 lots of people are having problems if they don't update Clover. I recommend using the latest version however many people are saying it is okay to use at least clover r4862 which is coincidently the version I used to update the repo. Additionally you should update AppleALC, Lilu and WhateverGreen kexts before attempting this update. If I have time I will put a pull request in to update all the kexts and clover again just to be safe. I will be attempting the update soon and will edit this post after I am finished. Edit: Works fine with latest Clover version r4895, AppleALC 1.3.6, Lilu 1.3.5 and WhateverGreen 1.2.7 Edited March 26, 2019 by reece394 1

MrJD
Hello all. First up thank you Chris and everyone for this amazing resource. I've learned a ton about this installation through here and I think I'm pretty close to getting a successful install but I keep hitting the same brick wall. I've performed this 3 times over the last few days, erasing the SSD each time and re-creating the install media too. I created the 10.14 installer USB using my existing Hackintosh. (Does this matter?) I have a three year old DELL XPS 9550, i7 6700HQ, 16GB RAM, with 2.5inch Kingston SSD. Intel HD graphics 530. I updated my BIOS to the latest version supplied in the repository. I have also adjusted all the settings in my BIOS as per the guidelines in the installation doc. I followed the Tutorial_10.14.md on github and managed to get all the way through to the end of step 3. I connected to the internet and everything seemed to be working perfectly - please see attached image of completed install (About this mac page). I created the EFI folder on the system drive and copied across the clover folder from the installer. The problem comes when I attempt to reboot and I get the dreaded runtime area allocation problem. I have attached this error and my memmap output. The error comes from when I try and boot off the internal SSD but at this point I've also try booting off the USB installer again and have the same problem. I then go back to my old Hackintosh and edit the UEFI64 drives on that USB drive with all variables suggested within the readme file (CLOVER/drivers64UEFI/other) concerning this Aptiofix problem. I've also read the various suggestions in the 58 pages of this post and tried the suggestions where others have had success. I feel like there must be something obvious I've missed but I can't see it. So having spent a few days on it I have started asking myself these questions: 1. Do you think the best option would be to reinstall again using a slide value of 73 (I calculated this based on the two screenshot figures) together with the OsxAptioFixDrv2. Is this correct and how would I go about editing the config.plist and copying the driver files to that folder? 2. Do I need to clear my CMOS / Reload custom BIOS settings each time I want this USB stick to boot/make changes as one other person has suggested in this post because I cannot get it to work now. On the past few installations I had to remove the SSD, reformat it in my Hackintosh and then put it back in fresh. 3. Should I try an earlier BIOS or should I try installing High Sierra or earlier? Are any earlier versions more likely to work? I'm currently running Yosemite on my desktop so El Capitan or higher would already be a step up for me! 4. Could it be a problem with my hardware? I've tried using two different SSDs. One is a 256GB Samsung PM871b, the other is the Kingston 240GB SSD. Many thanks for your help everyone Edited April 24, 2019 by MrJD

I installed everything using your installer files. Once I had booted into OSX I rebooted and ran the memmap via shell (within the clover bootup). I calculated my Slide number using this and the previous error code that I was encountering above. I then went back into the OSX, booting off the internal SSD and mounted the EFI and installed the clover files from your package and finally changed the slide number to 73 within the config.plist. I then rebooted and it worked. I've done several reboots and it appears to be working so I'll continue with steps 4-7 and hopefully have a working hackintosh. Thanks all. MrJD
I've been using my Mojave powered XPS 9550 for a few days. Seems stable and works well! Does anyone else have a problem with screen flicker which seems to get more frequent the longer you use it? I found another post where wmchris commented with injecting the edid with a product Id. This didn't seem to fix the problem for me. Any other ideas? Also usb is temperamental. Sometimes drives show up when I plug them in and sometimes they don't. Anyone else has this? Thanks all

Thanks all About screen flickering, is your model the 4K or the 1080? Can you check in About this mac if you see "Intel HD Graphics 530 2048 MB" as graphic card?
