- for me, battery usage is same as on Windows - around 3-4 hours. But this is on 4K screen (on 2K should be much-much more)

- touchpad - yes, not perfect, but looks like EmliDinesh got back to hackintosh scene, so maybe in some time we will get new version of famous Smart Touchpad driver

- strange, i'm not experiencing anything like you are talking about sleep/wake/brightness control is working perfectly (except screen not lighting up without touching keyboard after sleep)

well Ive got the 4k model too equipped with ~84Wh battery and the same duration as yours, max 3h screen on time but in the middle brightness.

On windows, Ive managed to achieve ~6h battery life.

Firstly, I chose the energy management via the OS option with the patch of corse. It is not as well as I thought.

After that I changed back to Intels solution, same with this. One thing to mention, I applied the ISS and C-state in the BIOS

Actually, never got more than 4-4.5 hours on windows with 84Wh and 4K screen (even from first days as i got this laptop)  :) So, I'm amazing such results - are you using battery saving power profile in Win? With performance profile - it looks nearly impossible for XPS.

nope... well configured in the advanced power management (win7 style panel) & how to use nvidia

But as soon as I manage to dual boot with windows, Ive got a system image recovery file and show you the difference.

Btw I installed the Intel power Gadget, but nothing weird shown

I have the same model as yours. I have at least 5 hours on battery on Mac. On Windows it drains really quick

Thanks for the feedback! So I guess you use the Intel Speed Step management

On mine - it is same for all time i remember. After sleep - you need to press any button on keyboard yo light-up screen (it can be any button, not only power). Will check on next week how it is working on real MBP

P.S. Just asked friend with real MBP12,1 - he told that on real mac screen is lighting automatically. So, looks like we have one more thing to fix for full perfection :)

Use boot argument darkwake=1 to fix that. See my build for what darkwake actually does in code (in post #4 I pasted the source code bitmasks, and darkwake=1 is "earlytickle").

You missed me from credits in your guide :)

Am I safe to use my Apple ID in App Store? I won't be using iMessage or Face Time.

I recommend following this guide: https://www.reddit.com/r/hackintosh/comments/525dsb/getting_imessage_working_on_el_capitan_and_sierra/

Even if you are not going to use iMessage or Face Time. I had an account blocked with this laptop only using App Store, because i didn't have the correct info set up.

I wonder if in this step:

> sudo cp -r ./10.12/Post-Install/LE-Kexts/* /Library/Extensions/

I can copy LE-Kexts to EFI/CLOVER instead and expect everything to work? If yes, any downside except slower boot time? Because I'm not really care about boot time at all.

darkwake=1 fixed the problem in my machine as well.

@wmchris should it be added to the clover config in github repository?

and in this guide, which config.plist should I modify?

1 EFI/EFI/CLOVER/config.plis

2 EFI/EFI/CLOVER/OEM/Systemproductname/config.plis

3 EFI/EFI/CLOVER/OEM/Systemproductname/UEFI/config.plis

or all of them?

The only config.plist you should ever need to modify, as far as I know, is the EFI/EFI/CLOVER/config.plist.

Thanks! I will try it out.

Does anyone have a problem with screen turning off after 3 minutes of no use? Mine turns off no matter what the value is in "Computer Sleep" or "Display Sleep".

Hi,

First of all, great tutorial! Got it working with relative easy. (my second time installing a hackintosh)

I do have some problems with my install though:

- I'm not getting audio over HDMI:

- I have done the HDMI/VGA fix, which worked, but only for video (i'm on MBP13,3 SMB btw).

- Installed pached AppleHDA with files on repo.

- tried installing via cloverHDMI, no succes.

I am getting an error that AppleGraphicsDevicePolicy.kext is invalid or something so I might have done something wrong. Is it possible to get hold of a original copy of that kext somewhere?

- My laptop gets really hot while it's charging. The heat comes from right under the Ctrl/Fn keys, and it's not that hot while using from battery (using Intel Speedstep in case this matters). Would switching to OS power management fix this, or is it hardware related?

- None of my sensors seem to be working. Noticed this while troubleshooting the heat issue from the last point (Getting no temperature reading on anything in iStat).

I have the i7 / 4k-touch / 16G Ram / Toshiba 512G model.

Hi,
I recently noticed an ACPI error in my logs that pops up everytime I plug/unplug my charger.

It seems some guy filed a bug report for ubuntu (XPS 9350) for something similar, although the error happened when he unplugged his monitor through USB type-c.
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1574044/

I also found some people complaining about this error on other Dell computers in the Arch and Dell forums.

Wanted to know if anyone knows something about it.

Using 10.12.6 Beta 4 as main system and 10.13 DP1 as sandbox for experiments :)

just to verify...Did you update from the original 10.12.2 image in the tutorial or was you install/reinstall using these later versions of macOS ?
