Neo.aka.Darkman
Hi, Guys! Is it possible to run Sierra under AMD Athlon X2 270? It has SSE4a, but no SSSE3. When not, what OS is working perfectly on this CPU? P.S. Video - Radeon HD6670 Thanks in advance!

Here your cpu, look under cpu features, you have to be patient until a new kernel is built for older amd cpus: Cpuboss.com/cpu/AMD-Athlon-II-X2-
DiniOG
Getting the error: CPU disabled by guest operating system Specs:AMD FX 8350 XFX RX 480 8GB Not sure if GPU was needed, but added it just incase. Did everything correctly as you are supposed to when trying to run Sierra; adding vmdk file, adding smc.version = "0" etc. I did notice that the vmx edits itself back if that could be a cause I don't know. Thanks for any help that can be provided. <

DiniOG
Ahh so you are running it in a VM. How have you set it up? Is this the installer or is it a premade one? Premade one I believe. The download says "macOS Sierra 10.12 files" and it's an 8GB vmdk. I set it up as you are supposed to by using the patch files, and removing hard disk and adding the 8GB file. Shaneee
It'll be premade for Intel though. You'd need to somehow mount the virtual hdd and replace the kernel. And depending on the bootloader used boot without caches but if Clover is used this won't work. You are better installing physically unless someone else has a better idea. You mean like installing fresh (brand new OS)? I was just wanting to add to VM for xcode and such. If there isn't a kind of simple way to do it then it's all good just saw a few people have gotten it to work so thought there was a different ISO or something. Shaneee
You'll probably find an El Capitan VM image somewhere. Installing to a VM with AMD isn't that easy. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

I'll give whatever a read, curious to get this working but if a ton of stuff is needed to be done then I just won't attempt it.

ydeng
Hi, I get solid freeze if I try to download files or access shared fold over network. I've tried both Bronya and Shanee's kernel, same thing. I can not find anything in the logs. I deleted all network devices and put the back. Did not see to do anything. I tried add-on Intel card and onboard ethernet. Same thing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

railledingue
First install the current Enoch bootloader, normally not with the option ESP, then replace the first Extra folder Edit: I do not know if your motherboard needs VIA or NForce drivers, I add in the appendix another Extra folder (Extra_2) with the appropriate chipset drivers. if the system should not boot, then exchange the folder against the other and start again. Try with using enoch bootloader i ,thank you , i have installed sierra , but after the instalation , when i reboot , i have black screen and reboot juste after : "setting Legacy USB OFF on xHC XHCI Legacy OFF done EHCI controller Setting Legacy USB off on controller Legacy USB OFF Done Setting Legacy USB off on controller Legacy USB OFF Done Setting Legacy USB off on controller Legacy USB OFF Done" after that my pc reboot

Shaneee
Yeah you'll need to copy it to System/Library/Kernels and the kexts into Extensions. If it's easier download this and put the folder onto the root of the USB, https://www.dropbox.com/s/dc02ihzhjldcdxz/Sierra%20Post%20Install.zip?dl=
