I can’t read Russian and I’m not using clover menu, just fast booting.
what should I check?

For test, first, can you disable fastboot? Then use filevault2, in gui, can you see name like above link's screenshot?

EDIT1.

if you can see, i will give you test file

Let me get back to you on that tomorrow. I’m not on my computer right now.

I suppose suggesting to use bless data instead of endless lines of static paths and detection logic will not work now either?

Details, please!

Details, please!

Boot option name retrieval

1) Locate the booter image as explained blow.

2) Locate ".contentDetails" in the parent folder

2.1) if unsuccessful, locate ".disk_label.contentDetails" in the parent folder

2.2) if unsuccessful, retrieve the volume's name

HFS Boot

1) Retrieve blessed file via https://github.com/CupertinoNet/EfiPkg/blob/development/Include/Guid/AppleBless.h#L41

1.1) if unsuccessful, retrieve blessed folder via https://github.com/CupertinoNet/EfiPkg/blob/development/Include/Guid/AppleBless.h#L45, append "\\boot.efi". NOTE: This is broken in the latest binary I checked.

1.2) if unsuccessful, use the following hard-coded paths: "\System\Library\CoreServices\boot.efi", "\EFI\APPLE\{ARCH}\BOOT.EFI", <StandardEfiPath>, "\\boot.efi" in this order

2) FV2 Recovery does not follow the usual practice because it is not shown by BootPicker anyway. Determine it via https://github.com/CupertinoNet/EfiPkg/blob/development/Include/Guid/AppleBless.h#L49, verify it does not match 1).

APFS Boot

1) Determine the APFS Volume Info (and hencefor detect whether it is APFS in the first place) via https://github.com/CupertinoNet/EfiPkg/blob/development/Include/Guid/AppleApfsInfo.h#L54

1.1) Determine the APFS Container Info via https://github.com/CupertinoNet/EfiPkg/blob/development/Include/Guid/AppleApfsInfo.h#L36

1.2) Verify the Volume Role via https://github.com/CupertinoNet/EfiPkg/blob/development/Include/Guid/AppleApfsInfo.h#L51

1.3) Retrieve blessed file analoguous to HFS 1). NOTE: This step and 1.3.1) are broken in the binary I checked, hencefor it does not happen, but is probably supposed to.

1.3.1) if unsuccessful, retrieve blessed folder and append the booter name the same way as in HFS 1.2)

1.4) (if unsuccessful,) locate all Volumes that are part of the same container, check whether the current Preboot partition has folders named by the just located Volumes' GUIDs and append the hard-coded paths from HFS 1.2) if existant

2) Recovery detection works the same way as 1.4), just for a Recovery instead of a Preboot volume

Thanks, but I have not changed anything yet.

If I use a clover 4439 then I do not have such nuances.

Hi Sherlock,

as promised here is the output from my FileVault2 on apfs on High Sierra. My problem is the macOS updates won't apply after restart. I need to boot into "macOS Install Prebooter" in order the update to apply and reboot and boot normal from "FileVault Prebooter". If this can be fixed, it would be awesome.

Good point. Nobody report read osversion issue of apfs filevault2 update. Can you tell me update file folder?

1. From appstore, update new update.

2. Then don't go macOS Install Prebooter.

3. Go normal boot, and check folder in root.

4. Upload files except big size files. Or file list.

Also i think your pattern is normal. What is the problem? I don't understand. To update, that go to macOS install partition, its normal. Hmm.

I can't test filevault2 on my system by myself. Sorry.

I forgot what the folder was, as it is applied and deleted. I’ll report back with the next update or better I’ll try to install the combo update.

So I've tried to reinstall the update and after rebooting I was this folder in the root partition (disk6s1 in the list), which relates to "FileVault Prebooter":

Good. There was a difference compared to normal update. There is no SystemVersion.plist.

Can you upload folder except BaseSystem.dmg and Applediagnostics.dmg. i need to check files.

Thanks in advance for your time.

Yes, there is. I think it is in the folder "Boot Files". Nevertheless take a look at it:

If you want me to test some changes, please only provide diffs and no binaries...

Thanks...

Sherlocks, I think hibernation of fv2 volumes is currently not functioning in 10.13 (Clover failed to detect it last time I tried), could you explore it when you get some time?

hi. droples reported hibrnation part.

but he has fv2 partition of hfs+. does it means apfs type?

            AddLoaderEntry(MACOSX_LOADER_PATH, NULL, L"macOS", Volume, NULL, OSTYPE_OSX, 0); // 10.12+

          }

        }

if MACOSX_LOADER_PATH and there is no case if. maybe clover use only macOS name.

Ok, I finally did it.

Works well on my laptop, but Legacy boot only. Put that file in your root CLover volume. Your's probably called 'boot', so rename it.

Wow, that's great news! Thank you very much! Finally, I will be able to power up my Lenovo notebook without an additional USB keyboard. I hope you can soon post the source code so that I can add it to my custom Clover version.

Sorry it didn't work for me, because I have tons of modification on the source. Please provide the diff file and I would compile myself and test.

it works. my system has 10.13.5 beta2 and i used your 10.13.4 macOS Install Data folder to check "macOS Install" part. there was no problem.

macOS Install Prebooter used specific UUID folder name and inside there is installer files. i implemented it.

here is proved screenshot. now, commit function of sf is not good. i can't access it.
