JaS, my suggestion would be to post this DVD to Usenet instead. Torrents are slow and unreliable and it is entirely possible (actually, even, likely) that Jobs and Co. have fake seeders on the payroll to try and disrupt these releases. Usenet would solve those problems ASAP.

cageman, with that tool I get the same checksum as you did.

Otherwise, I get the checksum like the rest of the people... (using http://www.md5summer.org/)

I'm not sure whether mine is working fine or not, since I only have a laptop which has a SSE3 cpu and I couldn't complete install due to a kernel panic. But, it boots ok and works ok before it gets into the PANIC due to PCCARD issues, which someone described earlier. I'm trying to remove that IOPCCardFamily.kext(?) to test, but couldn't afford time to do it yet. If someone has a succees on installing new DVD on a laptop, please post here. Thanks! ;)

I burned the iso to a DVD-RW with imgburn and installed it. Everything went perfectly except it did not install any audio (Intel D945 system). At the beginning of the install it checked the DVD and did not report any errors.

BTW, the 4.3GB ISO compresses to under 3GB (even with par2 files) using winrar and quickpar. Could save bandwidth.

Thanks!

I'm having trouble booting the installation DVD (getting "Still waiting for root device"). Could this be caused by a corrupted iso image? My md5 is: 36463658aff360345550fd6245645831

Try it with the tool cageman used, because he got different checksums using two different tool:

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=221447

# MD5 checksums generated by MD5summer (http://www.md5summer.org'>http://www.md5summer.org)

# Generated 10/31/2006 2:50:31 PM

36463658aff360345550fd6245645831 *JaS.10.4.8.Intel.SSE3.Only.Install.DVD.iso

# MD5 checksums generated by MD5summer (http://www.md5summer.org)

# Generated 10/31/2006 2:57:15 PM

6dc1174b738798f7dfd3e7e3b1454f6d082d011e *JaS.10.4.8.Intel.SSE3.Only.Install.DVD.iso

This was from the ISO. I also used MD5Check.exe with the same results.

I thinks its time to kick back until JaS has it figured out.

Edit:

Hmm.. the last was suppose to be SHA1 check. Issue with MD5Summer????

Another though... WHO has compromised the ISO?????

Looks like someone didn´t like to see the full 10.4.8 running on grayboxes...

ok, this installation make me wet

ufff

first part is most interesting for those who partytion table was wipeout like my, you can repair it with utility called testdisk it is on Gparted live CD I try version 4.5 and 5.7 those don't work you must have recent one, 6.7 works for me. I get my partytion back but loots of stres also (my hackintosh is my main work computer also )
