I want to update, but since last minor update was stuck on black screen after loading and self-repair after few reboots, I have big question on that the major update like this will not broke everything. So, for me it went smooth. You should have clover and kext up to date. It will not update with HFS+. But it is your Risk. Maybe someone else has any experience as well

nijhawank
Can somebody help me answer this question? I have a T460 (not T460s or T460p) that has Intel Wireless-AC 8260NGW. I see BCM94352Z (Dell DW1560) as the best-recommended replacement WiFi Card at various places. However, before ordering I wanted to ensure compatibility. Per https://wikidevi.com/wiki/Dell_Wireless_1560_(DW1560) it seems to have a U.FL Antenna Connectors. But 8260NGW has MHF4 Antenna Connectors per https://wikidevi.com/wiki/Intel_Dual_Band_Wireless-AC_8260_(8260NGW) So I wanted to know if people who have used DW1560 in their T460, did they use some kind of adapters for the antenna connectors or is the information wrong in wikidevi.com? I also know that there's another variation of BCM94352Z (Lenovo 04X6020). This has MHF4 per https://wikidevi.com/wiki/Foxconn_T77H543.00 but seems to have a different socket connector. 8260NGW and DW1560 are like this... 04X6020 has like this...
tluck
i used BCM4352Z NGFF M.2 (aka Dell DW1560). i dont remember what the slot looks like. to see if the 2nd cutout is needed or not to install the card. depending on the slot requirement, then maybe the 2nd card would work as well? The 2nd cutout is needed. You can do it with a small jigsaw. There are a few who did it. Be careful, it is your own risk. I am using a org Apple WIFI BCM94360CS2 with adapter. The bottom cover has a small dent, which I can live with. Therefore the complete WIFI and bluetooth Kext and Patches are not needed. Handoff, Continuity and Apple Watch unlock is working. The only issue i have with my carbon is that even though it has an i7 6600u cpu, it still lags even with an nvme ssd whereas the 460 is running on a 500gb hard drive. I'm finally going to upgrade to an ssd on the 460 tomorrow when my ssd arrives. Hopefully i can upgrade to high sierra and then mojave from the app store. Blaggah
I'm trying to upgrade the screen on my T460 to the high res screen.. Any particular screens i should be looking for? I'm looking at this particular one from ebay and the seller wants me to remove my current screen from laptop to compare the part number for compatibility. I just want to do one job with knowing one screen will work. https://www.ebay.com/itm/312222998453 Edited December 8, 2018 by Blaggah

Blaggah
For some odd reason, my 460 doesn't seem to want to shut down from MacOs High Sierra. I could've sworn it worked from Sierra. Even when I try to turn off by pressing power button it restarts.

nijhawank
I recently bought this dw1830 over ebay. The card works but I'm wondering what is this black patch on the back side. The seller said its used item removed from another laptop but do you think it's some bad/quick fixing hidden behind the patch. I've not tried removing the patch because otherwise the card is working but I'm thinking of quick/dirty fixing which might reveal after some use.Do you think I should take this up with the seller? I'm saying this because something similar happened some time ago when I ordered a laptop keyboard from ebay. It said and looked brand new, worked well for couple of weeks and then went completely dead.

Something like this - https://www.ebay.ca/itm/BCM94360CS2-Card-To-NGFF-M-2-Key-A-E-Adapter-For-Mac-OS-and-Hackintosh/391512537270?hash=item5b27f738b6:g:wIEAAOSw42JZGAtx:rk:2:pf:0 It says on the description it doesn't fit on laptop so I was not sure.
