askjdfaidhusfklajjnsadfljb
For the last few days, I've been trying to install OS X on a seperate hard drive. I already have Windows installed and i thought that i could just install OS X on a new hard drive and choose which I would use every time I booted up. But for some reason, when I choose OS X from usb in Clover, the apple logo shows up and so does the bar line, but it doesn't progress from there. after doing some research, I booted it in verbose mode to find out what caused the problem. I thought it might've been a kext, but I can't see any kext causing any problems. I'll post my specs beneath: Motherboard: ASUS MAXIMUS VIII RANGER CPU: Intel i7 6700K Skylake Quad Core GPU: MSI GTX 980 6GB Power supply: Corsair CX750 - 750W RAM: HyperX Fury 16GB 2400MHz DDR4 Screen: I dunno. Using DVI. Things that might've caused the problem: I use a seperate audio card. I think it's called Xonar something. I didn't unplug the other hard drives. I made the Bootable USB on a vmWare system There wasn't any way to turn off safe boot in the BIOS ( I've turned off fast boot and switched from Windows UEFI mode to other OS btw (There wasn't any vt-d option)) The hard drive i'm going to install OS X on is a HDD, but that shouldn't be causing any probs yet, should it? If you know what's wrong, please leave a reply. Thx Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/313563-problems-in-verbal-mode/ Share on other sites
Dwarfy
Hi, First of all try to remake the USB with this guide. Upload the EFI and then we can help you from there. If you feel like doing everything yourself, read about clover and how to make config.plist, about drivers, kexts etc. Regards, Dwarfy Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/313563-problems-in-verbal-mode/#findComment-2257074 Share on other sites

Cass67
No support for the Xonar card, had to go back to onboard one myself due to this. Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/313563-problems-in-verbal-mode/#findComment-2261655 Share on other sites
