goodguess
Thanks for your ongoing improvements to macOS on Optiplex! I did hit the black screen too today after running Combo update 10.12.4 from 10.12.3. Is there an easy fix for that or should I fall back to 10.12.3 and try again with Clover updated? Clover is 2.3k rev. 3974, HD4550 ID is 0x68e0
MacPeet
@ricoc90 Chameleon, I have not used for a long time. Example: @goodguess10.12.4 requires at least Clover 3985 or better later! With 3974 and 10.12.4 no KextInject works.
goodguess
Thanks MacPeet, updated to 4061 and Sierra is running again! A rather easy fix, I just did not update Clover as things were working so far.

Guest ricoc90
@MacPeet: thanks for your reply. The problem I had with the card was that as soon the AMD drivers were loaded, I would not get past DSMOS has arrived. With and without GE=Yes et cetera. If I'd boot into safe mode or when I moved the AMD drivers for my card (AMD6000Controller.kext and/or AMDRadeonX3000.kext) out of /S/L/E, it booted up fine.I tried patching the framebuffer personalities in AMD6000Controller to match my connector construction but I still got stuck at DSMOS has arrived. I had the HD6450 still laying around so I plugged that one in and it worked OOB. Today I bought a second GT 710 for cheap, so my graphics problem is solved now. The only problem I'm having now, is that verbose mode reports a LPC error, but I'll look into that later.
MacPeet
@chris1111In my Optiplex 780 MT I have: PCIe: TP-Link TL-WDN4800 N900 WLAN Dual Band up to 450Mbit / s to 2.4GHz or 5GHz, works OOB as Airport In my Esprimo I have:PCI: TP Link TL-WN851ND 300Mbit / s, works as AirportI have no freezing with the TP Link TL-WN851ND, not on 10.12.4 and not on 10.12.5 Beta 1-3 with the Injector.Kext from Post#1. Works very well with me.I have no ideas. Perhaps a problem with the Optiplex 790.
polyzargone
same thing in Mavericks and Snow Leopard, also freeze in windows10 If it freezes even in Windows 10, it looks like a hardware issue to me. And if all cards do the same, it may be your Optiplex the culprit. and all of PCI TP-Link existing in the web do the same Are you sure about this?

MacPeet
@polyzargone No, the TP Link TL-WN851ND is a PCI card (not PCIe). @chris1111 Yes, can be a problem of the 790. For Hackintosh often an older bios better, example Optiplex 760: A15 is better than A16! @for all Update: 10.12.5 DP Beta 4 16F67a works Night Shift - Patch from Beta 3 works: http://www.insanelym...26#entry2398751

MacPeet
No no,... Often problem of the SFF series. Too few slots. Only one PCIe ... ---> Graphics Many PCI free. The TP Link TL-WN851ND PCI card works great for these users as an airport. @chris1111 without warranty!!! Just as an example, the 760 boots much faster with A15. A16 makes problems. Friend @morpheousman also has a 790, maybe he has experiences. Edit: @morpheousman uses DSDT from the 780 for 790, I think. All DSDT's are from A15 Bios!

MacPeet
ok I have AR5B95 (only WLAN) in my Medion E7216. I have AR5B195 (WLAN + BT) in my Medion P9614. Both cards work well with all OSX versions. Work well with me with entry in DSDT ... Example: Method (_DSM, 4, NotSerialized) { Store (Package (0x0C) { "model", Buffer (0x1E) { "Atheros AR5B95 b/g/n Wireless" }, "device_type", Buffer (0x08) { "AirPort" }, "built-in", Buffer (One) { 0x00 }, "name", Buffer (0x10) { "AirPort Extreme" }, "AAPL,slot-name", Buffer (0x09) { "Internal" }, "compatible", Buffer (0x0B) { "pci168c,30" } }, Local0) DTGP (Arg0, Arg1, Arg2, Arg3, RefOf (Local0)) Return (Local0) } or pci168c,2b AR5B195 BT needs rehabman's IOath3kfrmwr.kext But only one antenna? Both cards have two antenna connectors. I wish you success...

Thanks I am not surprise if that also Freeze I see in the Bios Optiplax 790 (Other version) 3 bios change, they brings a correction on the PCI A11 ➤ 12. Opti does not recognize eSata Silicon 3132 card in PCIe slots A14 ➤ 1. Addressed PCI/PCIE card detection issue. A15 ➤ 3. Addressed PCI card not properly recognized. Anyway I am deal with this because I love that PC So much ! more then my GZ Z77 and GA 787 because its small and (Cool) very powerful for me

Stefe Hobs
Hey bro, if the Xeon its a core2quad based CPU then it should work fine. Otherwise on i7 (or i-based Xeon) CPUs u can only use it with cpus=1 flag. But that probably makes no sense to u.
Guest ricoc90
As for post #1, tested GFX with Sierra:The GT-710 gets a black screen on 10.12.5 beta 4 (16F67a). I'm booting with nv_disable=1 for now. ---I am able to connect to it through Remote Desktop. From there I can see that the kexts are loaded and the graphics card shows up correctly in About this Mac. So it basically just is that for some reason my monitor doesn't get any signal on either HDMI, VGA or DVI-D.
morpheousman
Hello friends, for all users, I've patched the new Sierra Night Shift. Now it works with SMBIOS iMac10,1 very well. Both files have already changed 3 SMBIOS types. Now minimum requirement from: iMac10,x MacPro3,x MacBookPro6,x On my Inspiron 3520 Laptop, Sierra 10.12.4.

billg66
So, another question re: my USB WiFi dongle. I bought a webcam/mic for my wife (the Optiplex Hack is hers) to enable Siri (and to use for Skype, etc.). Even though I have enabled location services, Siri keeps telling me to "turn on WiFi" (it's on) so she can find me. Is this a case of location services isn't going to work with a dongle? I checked the System Report under WiFi, and it's only showing the software. The WiFi is, of course, working fine, and the dongle shows up in the list of connected USB devices. Is there anything I can do to get Siri to get the system to recognized the dongle as a WiFi device (and thus enable location services)? Thanks...
