Guys, may I ask you what version of Sierra you've used to create the USB Stick ? Is it 10.12.4 by any chance ?

Yup It's the latest 10.12.4 (Sorry for the late reply as I was busy). I finally installed it by the method provided by you. Thanks for the help. The Hack has working internet. The display has no QE/CI. It doesn't boot with the dsdt provided by macpeet. I use the other graphics card dsdt with Eulemur and ATI injection in the config to reach the desktop. Any suggestions for solving the video problem? The graphics card is a HD6350 (68f9). I'll attach the dsdt and config.plist when I'll start the hack. Thanks again for the help.

I'm running into issues with my 790 sff guys. I installed 10.12.3 and everything worked well. I went ahead and did the update to 10.12.14 from AppStore and I meet blank screen on display. My 790 has hd5450 512mb from Asus. I'm now reinstalling 10.12.3 again to see where things went wrong.

I have no access to my Optiplex 760 SFF at the moment but I have some Radeon HD 5450 that use the same DSDT patch in other rigs. I recently updated one of my Hacks to beta 10.12.5 and it went all fine.

My 2cts :).

So are you suggesting that trying the 10.12.5 beta might solve the graphics issue?

Hey everyone, I'm having some trouble getting my 780 DT up and running. I can get into clover to boot the USB, but after that I just get this. I've tried some different boot flags but nothing seems to get me past this. I have a Q8200, 1x4GB DDR3, and a 1GB HD 5450. My bios is also A15, the latest version.

Hello friends, for all users,

I've patched the new Sierra Night Shift.

Now it works with SMBIOS iMac10,1 very well.

Both files have already changed 3 SMBIOS types. Now minimum requirement from:
iMac10,x
MacPro3,x
MacBookPro6,x

CoreBrightness.framework Beta 3 also works with Beta 4, Beta 5, 10.12.5 Final and 10.12.6 Beta 1!

Now minimum requirement from:

MacBookPro9,x changed to MacBookPro6,x
iMac13,x changed to iMac10,x
Macmini6,x changed to Macmini5,x
MacBookAir5,x not changed
MacPro6,x changed to MacPro3,x
MacBook8,x changed to MacBook6,x

No support for TV's or Beamer !!! Only monitors !!!

Path: System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/CoreBrightness.framework

1. backup vanilla CoreBrightness.framework
2. Copy patched CoreBrightness.framework to System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/CoreBrightness.framework (SIP 0x67 for the change)
3. reboot and have fun

See System Settings/Monitor/

Anyway to make it work, or have to go to 10.1.

It is in my preference pane, and color will change when mouse is on slider, but  will not stay mouse curser is removed.

Edit: Okay, after computer sleep, wakes up and Night Shift is staying set, (for now), afraid to adjust again. lol

Finished installing Sierra 10.12.4 on an Optiplex 755 with Gigabyte Geforce GT210 512MB and E8400 processor. The card has resolution issues with vga monitor but working great on a dvi monitor. Used this kext to make the sound work. Made the installation media using this guide as was having issues with second stage of Sierra installation with the createinstall method. Thanks everyone for the help specially macpeet and Polyzargone.

(Solved) I just spent the past couple days trying to get my system working again after updating to 10.12.4 on an older version of Clover. I finally was able to boot again by manually installing Clover to the drive off of another system. When the sound didn't work I copied the new kext files to 10.12 and rebooted. When that didn't work I put the kexts into a kext installer and now It will not boot again. This time I immediately get a "error loading kernel cache (0x1)" I deleted the Installed kexts and still no luck. I am hoping someone knows how to back out of this problem without having to start from scratch.

Already tried.

Removing kexts

UseKernelCache=No

-x

-s

nv_disable=1

Please help!!

Clover actual?

Since 10.12.4 at least 3985 or later
VerboseMode -v says?

(Solved) If you mean me

Clover 4049

-V "Error Loading Kernel Cache (0x1)

     Boot failed, sleeping for 10 seconds before exit."

It never exits after 10 seconds either.

Update - I never got the 780 working, but I have a 760 DT that worked perfectly. I followed this guide and this one too.

I have no idea what was wrong with the 780. It runs Windows perfectly, but I could never get into the Sierra installer.

Hmm... I haven't tried booting without AppleALC.kext, but I have replaced it with a few different versions without any luck. I might try that in the future if I decide to revisit that machine, but for now I'm happy with my 760 :) Thank you!

Does your audio work now? Optiplex 780 and 760 have the same audio chip:

LayoutID 11 with AppleALC and real AppleHDA

If not, then post your DSDT.aml and config.plist or EFI-Folder.

For your 780 follow post # 1 in this thread. Different DSDT's and all necessary Kext's you find there.

@MacPeet

Audio is working perfectly on the 760. I never got Sierra installed on the 780, but I'm going to use it for something else now. (My 760 used to run a server on windows, but now I'm switching it out for the 780.)

And thanks for the guide, it was very helpful!
