Having some issues with sleep...creating DSDT with my correct info regarding my CPU.

there is no sleep configuration bar in system pref however i can do it via terminal, system go to sleep...when it wakes the system will restart.

All relevant kexts are loaded, no other kexts on clover like NullCPU etc.

Any idea?

On that topic...

Probably not.... Why Yosemite?

On that topic,

I'm trying to get Sierra to work because it has driver support for my R9 Nano (and Fury). With 5960x and an EVGA Micro 2.

Not having much luck with Sierra on this cpu or a xeon 2690.

I realise this thread is about El Capitan, but I'm thinking most ppl who have a 5960x, = X99, = maybe a decent GPU will be hoping for some Sierra fixes.

Any success with this or other fixes on Sierra?

I haven't tested on Yosemite, but it is unlikely that it will work.

If you look at the first post, you will find a version of the patch for Sierra

No experience with the sleep issue, probably somebody who has could chime in.

I've got dual E5-2683 v4 and I just woke the thing from sleep! So, sleep works in Sierra.

I guess it wouldn't hurt to have the patch for Yosemite too. Can someone share Yosemite's IOPCIFamily.kext?

IOPCIFamily.kext 10.10.5

Thanks!

It seems that the patch for ElCapitan also works for Yosemite.

Yep, working here for me too, just did it today. Not sure if I need the FakeCPUID for it but I did that too FWIW. Everything seems to be working so I should be able to just run the El Capitan installer as soon as I get a chance.

Can't speak on sleep because I've never used it on any of my desktop hacks since my audio interface makes my speakers pop. I'm assuming since I'm using NCPM it doesn't work.

Thanks again Brumbaer! I was successfuly setup CPU and memory (Gigabyte X99 UD4 r1.1+E5 2695v3 ES 14cores) , but one big problem is remain: Performance of gigabyte gtx980Ti windforce are 3x lower than on my old system asus P9X79pro+3930K. I usualy work in FCPX, Motion 5 and compressor. FCPX usualy use cuda on 980Ti and I know that because led lamp on card switch on, and effects works much faster than realtime. Now, on X99 system, FCPX doesn‘t activate cuda, led is off and performances are very low. Nothing is realtime. I tried to change smbios, almost every type. Also I patched AppleGraphicsControl.kext, but performance not changed. Now I think to back to old system. Does anybody have some idea?

Could you verify the cpu & gpu performance with something else like geekbench, luxmark and cinebench to get some hint what's going on?

I'm not sure but I think FCPX uses OpenCL.

Yes it uses OpenCL, but NVidia cards on the Mac support OpenCL. So you should see acceleration from the video card in FCPX.

You can use CompuBench CL from the Appstore to run OpenCL benchmarks.

And here is the crux, it will not benchmark a 5960x system.

It allows running the benchmarks on the graphics card, but they fail. Whether this is a 5960x problem or a CompuBench problem, I do not know.

I tried to check directly in FCPX by comparing with and without driver, but FCPX will not run without the Webdriver.

Sascha do you have a sample file for FCPX, where you can say how fast a certain operation should be when accelerated or how fast when unaccelerated, so we could check whether acceleration t is working on our systems ?

Luxmark shows the GTX980TI OpenCL as working. Please test in your system.

Thanx guys. Your comments was very helpful for me. After testing 980ti, I conclude that apple apps can‘t find OpenCL of 980Ti on my X99 system, because desktop, finder, safari, pages works slowly also. Most of apple apps use OpenCL. I tried adobe premiere, and during start crush OS.

take a look at this and see if it helps http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/306535-nvidia-web-driver-updates-for-el-capitan-update-07182016/page-23?do=findComment&comment=2211840are you using displayport?

There's a lot of info in that thread from other people with the same issues, not sure if you've already looked at it. Good luck!

Hmmm...crazy thing. I replaced 980ti with gt 220. Geekbench goes up from 21000 to 30000. Obviously I have big problem with 890ti.

Could it be broken for the 980ti in that version? IIRC there's a way to get it to use an older version of the driver...

I used my X99 with a 980TI under 10.11.4-10.11.6 Sierra DP1-DP3. No performance problems so far. Can't tell whether OpenCL works in Apple Apps, but the performance in Geekbench is ok.

When you say you use a gt220, do you still use the Webdriver ?

With gt220 I used system driver. But, I found prime problem. This is memory. On my board Gigabyte X99 UD4 there are 8 memory slots. At first, I had only 4 modules 8GB and I put them in slots 1,3,5,7. But, I noticed that mac os automaticly recognise only 4 slots 1,2,3,4. Your advice was to map slots in clover (0,2,4,6) , and I did it. Mac os recognise all 4 modules, 32Gb, but, problems became worst. Mac os was very unstable. Than I put 4 modules in 1,2,3,4 slots. After that gtx 980ti became much faster, but I was not satisfied. I replace 980Ti with gt220 and my machine finaly became fast as I expect. In the meantime, I got 4 more modules. Unfortunately performance wasn‘t better. Mac os still don‘t recognize automaticly all 8 memory slots and I have to map slots in clover.  Today I orderd new graphic card gigabyte R938XG1. If it would work better, I‘ll get one more card and make crossfire.

Hey guys,

I am fighting with trying to boot from USB to go to the installer since weeks now :(

I can't seem to find what is wrong.

I am still stuck with Yosemite 10.10.2 since 1+ year.

Anybody made it work with same motherboard / cpu ?

My specs:

GA-X99-UD4

5960X

64Gb Ram

2 SSD drives

4 HDD (2 in RAID1 / 2 in RAID 0)

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 4095 MB with 2 Dell UltraSharp 27" WQHD
