Can No One Help?

I've been running Mac and XP just fine for ages. I use Acronis to pick which to boot in. All worked well for months, and then one day I couldn't boot into the Mac. I got a message that I've been unable to find anywhere on these forums.

 

EBIOS read error: Media Error Block 28611 Sectors 64

 

This happens when I pick Mac in Acronis.

 

Please could someone help me. This computer was made for me, so I really don't want to go to the trouble of reinstalling everything again...

Hey,

Try the stuff (dual booting) without the Acronis, its damn easy that way. Try to read bout the stuff in the forums. This type of problem had already been discussed elaborately.

That sounds ok, but how to I get rid of Acronis? I'm worried I'll mess up the whole computer and stop xp working.

if you can still enter xp, you can uninstall acronis from there, right before then, you will need to set your mac partition active so that you will use darwin to choose what to boot from.
