Duran Keeley
Cosmetic, Unknown CPU in the about this Mac is common. Will update in a sec on how to modify it UPDATE: Download TextWrangler (or any capable xml editor) Open This file: /System/Library/CoreServices/loginwindow.app/Contents/Resources/English.proj/AboutThisMac.stringsHint: If you can't find it there are 2 ways:1. Open finder and navigate to System -> Library -> CoreServices -> loginwindow -> Right click -> Show Package -> Contents -> Resources -> English.proj -> AboutThisMac.strings 2. Press the command key (Windows key on a standard keyboard) + shift + G Paste this in there: /System/Library/CoreServices/loginwindow.app/Contents/Resources/English.proj/AboutThisMac.strings Now edit this: <key>ABOUT_BOX_SINGLE_PROCESSOR_FIELD_FORMAT</key> <string>AMD FX-8350</string> 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/311298-amd-fx-8350-not-recognized/#findComment-2221709 Share on other sites

Duran Keeley
whit this solution cpu is full recognized or is also for label? another question: if cpu is not recognized i use full cpu acceleration? i see that i have 2mb L2 cache..but my cpu have 8mb L2 cache The system is booted so that means your CPU is fully recognised it is just showing as Unknown because the kernel has been patched that way. You will get full CPU acceleration (you don't have stepping or power management on a AMD kernel by default anyway) and as before it's cosmetic it terms of the L2 & L3 cache readout. FYI: I see you installed Mac under a different language then english, so you may need to change my method above for the appropriate language.
