just check those drivers. ALC-1 layout-7, layout-12. ALC-cont layout-7, layout-12.

ALC-Cont Layout 7 is the best.

ALC-2.ZIP - Layout 12

Good - Sound ok. Does not stop -

BAD - Both Headphone and Lineout works when Line out is selected. If Headphone is selected both stopped working.

ALC-1.ZIP - Layout 7

Good - Sound ok, Headphone Works

Bad - Line Out Does not work.

ALC-1..ZIP - Layout 12

Good - Head[hones works

Bad - No Line out option,

ALC-cont - Layout-7 *

Good - Head[hones works, Line out works

Bad - Internal Speaker Does not work

ALC-cont - Layout-12

The green jack at rear/ front headphone jack/ front mic (named as internal microphone) works. I am happy with the output. its clear and loud enough though its louder when I boot in windows.

I am not sure if I should expect the rear and side speaker out to work. I don't use those but just for records they don't work.

I would like to say a BIG thank you to You and @Andres ZeroCross for helping me out with the audio. I just can't believe a $250, 6 year old, PC performances much better then my $1500 MacBook Air :D. I am getting an SSD for this hopefully it will make boot much faster.

Just one final question. Do you know if it would work with the incremental updates or Mojave? I like to keep my system up-to date with updates but I read many people have issues after updating so would like to play safe. I will be using this system purely to learn programming so as long as Xcode, Visual Studio and Audio works I will be happy.

vandroiy2012 promised that your resources will add to the base AppleALC. if that they can be modified there. Do not be afraid of updates.

I tried to modify the audio node and pinconfig, but I don't know why I didn't see the audio device.

from this post does not work?

Sorry, because I also use the translator may misunderstand what you mean.

I will continue to modify it and submit it to github.

Before that, I didn't know how AppleALC works and maintains it.

Hello, here's a tricky one : ASUS P8P67 Pro and its ALC892 codec.

An old problem with this mobo and nobody found a solution after years, it's probably a firmware issue but I still hope there's a workaround for it.

Basically, HDA works fine with old firmware, but after updating to the latest one the codec vanishes and doesn't work at all in OSX, whatever the method (I think Voodoo HDA is ok though).

I could stick with the old but this update is not cosmetic, it brings lots of improvements, like transition from EFI to UEFI and is mandatory for proper Mojave support.

Looking in DPCI manager I see 2 codecs, one seems ok, the other one reads "0x00000000" for both codec ID and Revision (see picture).

The configuration is ok and working with old firmware. After the update is done, I get this result, without changing any configuration (so it's theoretically still ok).

Don't know what to do with this ghost device, maybe finding a way to disable it would be a good start ?

Attached a picture of codec with old firmware, and with new.

Side question : would you happen to know what module(s) could handle HDA in UEFI ? I'd like to try to bring the old module in the new UEFI, but can't find anything related. I'm afraid this is merged with some critical stuff like PCI lines management.

EDIT : Nevermind, I found the solution : https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/276380-the-inevitable-p8p67-pro-install-guide/?do=findComment&comment=2657616

что-то получается? Вам надо переходить в другую тему. Эта тема не по заводу конкретного кодека а про функционирование AppleALC.kext.
