itisme754
Apologies but I'm majorly confused. I'm not running VMWare, so what's the best kernel for my system? AMD FX 6300 EVGA Geforce 650 Turbo 16GB Ram GA-970A-DS3P Thermeltake 650W PS FYI, I still think Mac on VMWare isn't worth it because it's too slow, a PC would be faster (even though I hate PCs). I used bronya's kernel for 10.11.2 and it worked well

How to? like add -v -f kext-dev-mode=1 npci=0x3000 on org.chameleon.Boot.plist? i tried KCPM Utility Pro , prompt me its a recover disk.
RayLo23
I can't get my mouse to work either. I get the strange green stuff but everything else works fine. Need mouse for unreal engine 4. Also tried the Wacom pen and my pen for the monitor. It's farther then I got with Yosemite, my motherboard didn't seem to like it (newer motherboard I suspect). I also checked in bios and my ports are closed even after I enabled a bunch. Defective motherboard or bad bios? I did update the bios it didn't change (even though GA claimed the bios should fix it's USB problems). It's fine with Windows 8.1.
spakk
No, this USB problem is a general problem on El Capitan. You can fix the problem by patching the dsdt, but did not work with any dsdt's !! .... These problems have been Discussed here several times. A simple alternative / method to resolve this USB problems ====> use the USB-Fix package, which I have created, see above under download! Note the Install Notes! I don't have a DSDT, I'm not using one. I've already used that USB fix package, but during the verbose boot, Mac whinges that the permissons are incorrect, omitting. And now when it boots, I'm stuck at the Welcome screen. Even after I select my country, the Back and Continue buttons don't work. spakk
I solved that by putting the SSD into a hard drive dock on my Mavericks install and assigning ownership to root:wheel but now I have another problem! When I use the installer USB to boot to my new install, I get a USB loop error. It spams something about restarting and stopping it? I fixed that on my installer USB so why doesn't that apply to the new hard drive? Aren't I using the kexts from the USB to boot, not the hard drive? EDIT: I've booted to the setup screen! I removed the troublesome kexts but wasn't sure how to assign the proper permissions! I selected my country, but it won't let me hit Continue! That problem has been noted by some users. Presumably, the screen was not synchronized correctly ==> No problem..... click the mouse button, either below or above the "next button" then you appear the next screen.alternative were already in the previous pages described ! with alternative to circumvent the problems. RayLo23
I have always had to delete the bluetooth drivers on the usb to get it working. It works fine, just still no mouse in El Capitan. But it installs the bluetooth drivers. I use MyHack for permissions, it also delete some extensions which makes it much faster. Also try to use Master Boot Record when partitioning the USB. it often works better with pcs. And yes it appears to repair permissions for El Capitain. FYI, Pandora doesn't support MBR. RayLo23
Other than the noted graphical issues with the current kernels. Can I expect 10.11.2 to run smoothly via VMWare with my current hardware? Kinda in a personal predicament where I would like to have as minimal problems as possible without relying on internet research to bail me out. So to speak Basically internet access is limited so yeah. I would be willing to test FX kernels when I can though. LOL, I have said this before. Mac won't run great in VMWare. It's because it's within Windows, it's only as fast as Windows is. It will probably never be as smooth or fast as a real Mac. Macs are great, I have one but I wanted a multicore hackintosh for unreal engine. This is why if I can't get the AMD Hackintosh to recognize the 6 core I'll use Windows until I get the i7 6 core. I tried VMWare awhile ago, a lot of headaches. Especially USB support, it was terrible (lol, not a bad word but it censored me ). Maybe they improved it, but inside Windows Mac might still crash. Has nothing to do with Apple, it's Windows and VMWare. It really only makes sense if you have mac files you need to read and you don't have a regular Mac to put them on. spakk
The logical thinking can not offer you any tool, learn your hardware spec know and decide for yourself. enjoy with care! it is not necessary to delete all that, what myhack serving as problematic extensions to delete !!! You as a user have to know what you're doing!

itisme754
There was 162 errors in DSDT Editor... I used the "fix errors" option and then saved. Files were too large for insanelymac (13mb) so I uploaded to google drive: IOREG (on yosemite) DSDT Spakk, is there anything that can be done to dsdt.aml to fix graphics issues (yellow screen)? MordredDuCouteau
Hi everyone! I've successfully installed El Capitan (10.11.2) However I cannot install the alternate nvidia drivers - it gets right to the end, up to verifying, then fails. I tried doing this with another installer and the same thing happened, is it an OS issue? I cannot sign into iCloud services at all due to an unknown error, and there are graphics glitches as well. (in screenshot) Can anyone help? Cheers in advance! FirstCap.tiff
spakk
This is a known problem that occurs especially with FX CPU, the phenomenon must be modified in to the source, unfortunately so far no one has a recipe created to fix the problem. antoni950425
Hey,guys. i watched lot of topics about usb-fix for el capitan. My computer is a antique computer. its doesn't support usb 3.0. so i tried to edit AppleUSBEHCIPCI.kext to fix the usb.(i've tried usb-fix v2 by spakk) The problem is my dsdt file have no "EHC" title. only have "UHC".i think its kind of special controller. Here are some screenshot Anyone give me some pointers,i would be very appreciated ! Here is my acpi_dsdt.bin without any edition Thanks for help! P.S: i tired all usb port on my computer, all dead. Edit: I think that when you modified the AppleUSBEHCIPCI.kext, then you will probably have no effect. if you want to have an effect, then you need to install all the standard drivers, then try to modify the AppleUSBEHCIPCI.kext. However, no guarantee it will work. Greater success is, to use or to modify the GenericUSBXHCI.kext (current version). Archiv.zip

antoni950425
antoni950425, what can you tell? working or not? Seem like it doesn't work. But I'm not sure i did the right way to launched the DSDT file. Because I'm new guy. maybe i made some low-level mistakes. I add that DSDT file to /Extra/extensions/ folder . Then edit org.chameleon.Boot.plist file <key>CsrActiveConfig</key> <string>103</string> <key>DSDT</key> <string>/Extra/Extensions/DSDT.aml</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>-v -f npci=0x3000</string> <key>SMBIOS</key> <string>/Extra/SMBios.plist</string> And here is my Extra folder.Extra.zip I have a question is my motherboard don't support USB 3.0. So can i just try old SMBios like Mac Pro 3,1 which don't have XHCI port. The last question is how can i see SMBios and DSDT successful launched. Thanks for you work. For your information, Yosemite currently runs pretty well in vmware on my current hardware. From what I hear from my friends who do run el capitan on their intel processors(in vmware) its a very good improvement in performance. As much as I would like a real mac, I can't afford them at this time. You also kinda state the obvious here. Ofc I need mac for mac specific things, cause windows can't do them, otherwise I would not even bother. With that aside I do plan to run OSX off of my real hardware eventually. I just need to get some new drives first before I do that because frankly I hate partitioning. Too much of a pain trying to make Windows and OSX play nice on the same drive.
