Bay Trail Hackintosh

Hi,

 

I've been attempting to install OSX on a Bay Trail tablet, a Linx 7, which I've installed a custom BIOS for which supports 64bit EFI. I know that basically nothing will work but ideally I'd like to see it boot to installation.

 

I've tried:

 

BDUtility to install Clover and download the HDRecovery for 10.10. After using FakeCPUID and changing the bus speed, I reached a power management panic. I installed NullIntelPowerManagement and the boot went further - until it reached the "still waiting for root device screen". I believe that my install USB is not being detected  - the BIOS forces USB 3.0 (Intel) and I have to use a USB-OTG cable to convert the female microUSB port to a full sized USB port. I've been able to boot Ubuntu, Android, Windows etc like this. I believe this is down to a lack of a USB driver. I've tried the generic ones with no luck.

 

Copying the HDRecovery to the internal MMC doesn't have any effect either - even when copying Clover to the EFI too it can't detect the internal storage. This is not SATA - it's, according to the BIOS, a Hynix chip connected via PCI / AHCI (option I'm given, neither works).

 

It looks as if the system would boot if I could get it to pick up the install media, but neither of the two install options work.

 

I've also tried:

Yosemite Zone 10.10 - ACPI error, can't get past it

BDUtility Mavericks / El Capitan - ACPI error, can't get past it

BDUtility Lion - same

Snow Leopard - not deteced by Clover

 

I know that even if this does boot there's no way it will ever detect the internal MMC, however I could possibly install to a USB and run it off that. The only thing is getting the USB chipset detected.

 

There's a huge amount of USB options in the BIOS, however changing some of them disables USB completely. Luckily my BIOS supports the touchscreen so I can change the setting back however.

 

The tablet is dual boot at the moment - the firmware I'm using. One side is Android, with a 64bit EFI BIOS and unlocked options, the other side is Windows, with a 64bit EFI and locked BIOS. There's a selection screen on boot. I'm using the Android side currently - both have access to the internal MMC.

 

Is there any way I can get the USB controller detected?

There is a one off kernel out for Mavericks that works with a Baytrail cpu in this thread.  Not sure if this will solve your issues, but to me it pointing out the possibility of it not being just a USB problem.

try el capitan with chameleon bootloader
