consolation
with that said,I can see how adding mikfi's kernel into the installer would be great for users that only need those patches. As all of you already know, when I make my install dvd , it is all about you guys.So if you want to have the kernel choice.I'll give it to you for sure. It seem like developing a few kernel branches is a good idea. It might make solving problems easier in the future, by a kind of a differential diagnosis if you like.. BuXb
- if I have FSB=667, what do I enter? 667/4 = 166? - do I enter fsb=166 or fsb=<166>? - do I enter it in com.apple.Boot.plist --> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>-v -x fsb=166</string> correct? ~Neo
Neo!!! how you get to start your system wich method of installation u used plis!!! Ahm, It was a 10.4.7 Patched and the combo 10.4.8... but it should work with unpatched 4.4 too! The only thing that wasn't working was the "No execution..." It was disabled in BIOS! activated and IT WORKS HAHAHA! Thanks, kossi!!
7210211
hey JaS, i wondering when you make a JaS 10.4.8 full release and kernal if you could make basic version that DOES NOT include the 2 something gigs of printer drivers, extra laguages and fonts... MichalK
Now i can´t complete the boot process, it´s say"STILL WAITING FOR ROOT DEVICE" SATA or PATA? I've installed it on the same mobo, with 531 prescott. JaS 10.4.6 upgraded to JaS 10.4.7, Apple 10.4.8 combo over it, the Mifki/Vitaliy's kernel and SMBIOS kext. Repaired perms and... it didn't worked. I could go into single user, but the GUI failed. I've managed to get it working with -legacy switch (and disabling hyperthreading in BIOS). However, I can't get QE/CI working on my GMA900. Seems like new kexts are not working
~Neo
Ok now... DVI isn't working! But I have a feeling, that X1300 works with these drivers In about 30 minutes there will be the new version! It only works with the 8.8.1 kernel!!! Here is what system profiler says: Radeon X1600 Series: Chipsatz-Modell: Radeon X1600 Series Typ: Monitor Bus: PCIe VRAM (gesamt): 512 MB Hersteller: ATI (0x1002) Geräte-ID: 0x71c2 Versions-ID: 0x0000 Monitore: W19-1: Auflösung: 1440 x 900 @ 60 Hz Farbtiefe: 32-Bit Farbe Core Image: Unterstützt Hauptmonitor: Ja Synchronisierung: Aus Eingeschaltet: Ja Quartz Extreme: Unterstützt Rotation: Unterstützt Look at the red things! Takuro
Ok now...DVI isn't working! But I have a feeling, that X1300 works with these drivers In about 30 minutes there will be the new version! It only works with the 8.8.1 kernel!!! You should probably start a new thread about your driver modifications. This thread is becoming way too bloated. Have the issues in Vitality's kernel been fixed? I've heard of problems opening "About This Mac" and other things. I'm holding off until those issues are completely addressed. ~Neo
why You have such as feling... and what Unterstützt mean, sorry I am not Dutch, did this mean Not Supported 1. I have this feeling because X1600 works with this driver and theres also a driver for X1300 2. I'm not a dutch! I'm german 3. "Unterstützt" means "Supported"

~Neo
it works! great btw, doom3 worked with 3.2, failed with 3.3 and now with 3.4 works again! one more question: there are kexts and opengl framework in your package. are they old or new, from which system version they are? ALL are from 10.4.8! So its only working with 10.4.8 and 8.8.1 kernel! And its good to hear that it works OK.. I want to help you, improving the kernel Here is the loginwindow crashlog... Just look at it and you will see the exception Crashlog_loginwindow.zip
