Blacky
Dear all, So I set out to build a new machine, which will eventually be fully watercooled. The specs are: GA-X99-Gaming 5P - Atheros 2200e Network Card - Creative Core3D Sound Card (CA0132) Intel Core i7-5820K 16 GB RAM - 3000 MHz GV-N75TOC-2GL (Gigabyte 750 Ti) Lots of HDDs and SSDs I've decided to go with OS X 10.11.2 (El Capitan) and Clover. Clover is installed on a separate small SSD of 32GB. This way I can fiddle around with different OSes installed on different drivers. The installation went without a problem by following the instructions on http://www.rampagedev.com . I had to add a number of extra kexts to get everything working and had to boot with nv_disabled = 1. To get the video card going with all ports I needed at first to "Inject Nvidia" from Clover, install the web drivers and than remove "Inject Nvidia". The USB ports are a bit messed up, in the sense that some ports are reported as USB 2.0 , but they seem to be working at USB 3.0 speeds. On the other hand all USB ports are working. When everything will be working properly I will post a zip with all the kexts and configs that got this machines going so others can use them. Remaining issues: 1. The sound card is not working. I had some progress using this http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/309283-creative-ca0132-g1sniper-m3-patch-for-applehda-or-voodoohda/ andthis http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/309441-new-applehda-patcher/?p=2194865. But I have no output or output control on any of the ports. I will continue to investigate. To get the motherboard to work with AppleHDA check this post: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/309283-creative-ca0132-g1sniper-m3-patch-for-applehda-or-voodoohda/?p=2207706 For a working AppleHDA please check the same thread. I will return with full Clover configs and kext. 2. Clover doesn't boot from "Last Boot Option", always asks me to choose. This has been fixed by removing EmuVariableUefi-64.efi . I could not find any workaround.
iWanderer
I got my sound working using latest VoodooHDA. Install and restart, then you should have working sound.
Blacky
I've tried VoodooHDA, there is "some" sound, but it's very faint and quality is very bad.
iWanderer
Hmm...that's weird. I got exact same board, VoodooHDA 2.88 gives me perfect sounds.
Blacky
Can you please provide me with your VoodooHDA kext, just to make sure there are no differences?
iWanderer
I tried to attach the file but it won't let me. But the link above is the exact version I used.
Blacky
Ok, so I tried the latest VoodooHDA ... again. Output is only on one port which for the secondary speaker. Normal output port doesn't work. I also have to boost my speakers to max in order to hear anything. Quality is bad. Are you sure you have exact same motherboard ? iWanderer
Yup, GA-X99-Gaming 5P Rev 1.0 with firmware F2f. Did you try uninstall your previous driver first?
Blacky
Ok. I will probably do a clean install of OS X and try again, I see no other way around it right now. I have the exact same board as you, GA-X99-Gaming 5P with Rev 1.0 . With VoodooHDA, only the lower - right port works (see the picture below) and the sound is terrible. http://www.mediafire.com/view/0044lo85dqtiep4/IMG_20160104_182348.jpg BTW, if you are using Clover and you have some custom DSDT files, please do share your Clover config file and DSDT files. I think it would be very helpful to compare with what I have.
iWanderer
Here is the files I used (GA-X99-Gaming 5P). The SSDT is a 4.4GHz CPU Speedstep I generated from ssdtPRGen.sh.
iWanderer
Noted: I just updated the files I linked above with DSDT and VoodooHDA kext I used to get the sound working.
Blacky
iWanderer, thank you so much for those files. With them I was able to get everything working including the sound. Your config file didn't work on my machine, but I got some good information from it + DSDT and the VoodooHDA kext . With all those files and some modifications I got the sound to work! Once I got everything nailed down, I will upload later my Clover configs and kexts (some of my kexts are slightly newer than yours). In the mean time I want to try and get AppleHDA to work instead of VoodooHDA. If that fails I will just stick with VoodooHDA. Again, thank you very much iWanderer! Blacky
Unfortunately I couldn't get any of AppleHDA to work. You can read more about it here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/309283-creative-ca0132-g1sniper-m3-patch-for-applehda-or-voodoohda/ Here are my Clover config files: http://www.mediafire.com/download/3bm9kuasq9racil/GA-X99-Gaming_5p_Blacky.zip BTW, if you don't mine iWanderer, could you please upload your original version of AppleHDA, I am not sure if my backup is still the original AppleHDA, I had so many versions running around. Thank you again!
Blacky
BTW, have you managed to get iMessages and FaceTime to work? I have tried all of the guides I could fine, but none of them work.
iWanderer
I got it working by using iMessageDebug to extract MLB and ROM from my Macbook Pro and entered them in ROM and MLB in Clover config files. You can read more about it here.
Blacky
I can use my Macbook as well to do that. However, on your link it says: Update 29/12/14: New system-id block introduced by Apple to prevent multiple machines logging into iMessage at the same time with the same MLB/ROM. Try not to have more than one machine connected to the internet and logged into iMessage/FT at the same time if they share MLB/ROM.
iWanderer
I just used MLB from my Macbook Pro and the ROM is set to Killer E2200 MAC address from GA-X99-Gaming 5p. I could get on internet with both machines and iMessage and FaceTime work fine.
Blacky
Yes, it works. Thank you! I've tried to make a new account and it works. Looks like me main account is banned, too many changes in a short timespan. EDIT: No, doesn't work. It logs into iMessages now, but claims there is a problem with signing into my account and I need to contact customer support. Oh well.
iWanderer
Make sure your Built-in Ethernet Port is en0. If not, try to delete your Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration folder and restart.
Blacky
Neah, I reinstalled the OS and I still have the same 2 issues remaining: no iMessages and no AppleHDA sound. On my other hackintosh, which is an aging HP DC7900 everything works very nicely. But that one I made a few years ago. EDIT: YES! I got it to work with my ID. Thank you! Blacky
Got AppleHDA to work as well, see this: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/309283-creative-ca0132-g1sniper-m3-patch-for-applehda-or-voodoohda/?p=2207706
Blacky
Updating to 10.11.4 was a disaster for me. I can barely boot in OSX, often I get kernel panics. I had to remove the DSDT that was initially provided in this thread and I am currently running without a DSDT. So 3 issues: 1. No Sound - fixed by wern 2. No DSDT - fixed by wern 3. Nvidia drivers put monitor into sleep no matter what. - fixed
Blacky
This has been fixed using this thread: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/309283-creative-ca0132-g1sniper-m3-patch-for-applehda-or-voodoohda/?p=2231160 use the DSDT provided by wern (in the topic of the above linke) and the kext patch in the link above. Sasha Medovarski
I just assembled my new computer based on: gigabyte x99 gaming 5P, 32GB ddr4 kingston hyperX cl14, CPU xeon E5-2695 v3 (14 cores, 2,2Ghz) and GPU gigabyte 980Ti. During boot sequence, break on "pci configuration begin" and restart. I‘m trying to install 10.11.3 from usb flash made by newest #####. Does anybody have idea how to solve this?
Blacky
I have never experienced this problem.Probably an issue that needs to be fixed from the bootloader.
