pit256
Hi, There is a little tweak you must do to make it works and you need to build. You need to replace HDEF device 0x8ca0 with your. AppleALC has not been done for this king of patch, so if you want it to work, you'll need to build with patch I provided and replace with your HDEF device id. Fred Thank you Fred for your reply, unfortunately I think it is beyond my skills. So, unless someone can provide some kind of tutorial, I will stay with shilohhh's AGDPfix script... Thanks anyway

xtddd
Pike! You are the man Just checked and at least with my El Cap test installation it apparently seems to work. Unfortunately, the recovery partition still refuses to boot into anything else than the dreaded black screen even with that patch - but thats the smaller problem, since here I can use an alternate Clover config with Mac Pro 5,1 SMBIOS, thats enough for the occasional recovery boot I guess. So if this patch survives Apple updates -> no more manual fiddling - Yay! Very good. Thanks a lot and it's good to see you back. this patch works on 10.11.6 and also works on 10.12.2.. barijaona
I've tried this NvidiaGraphicsFixup.kext and it appears to be the perfect solution for me. It uses Lilu.kext, so it should work OK with installer and Recovery HD.

tasc
Does this fix still work on the Mac OS 10.12.4 update? Stopped working for me with the update, I had to fallback to editing the DevicePolicy plist again.
