Unfortunately, I'm afraid it won't work with that method. AFAIK, the System Info will only report "AMD Radeon HD 5450" when the correct framebuffer is loaded.

So you'll have to choose another one than Shrike (i.e Eulemur which breaks both HDMI audio and sleep) hence, messing up with some things :P.

Wrong!  :P

Works fine with my 790, and does not wreak havoc on HDMI Sound or Sleep. :)

I have not tried it on my 780 yet.

You just need an additional graphic card such as the AMD Radeon HD 5450 (fully supported in this guide) or any other card that fits in the SFF case.

Does anyone have any experience of the Sapphire 11190-09-20G AMD Radeon HD 6450 Silent 2GB DDR3 Graphics Card? Only £9 more than the Asus ATI Radeon HD 5450 Silent Graphics Card and double processing power. Seems like a better buy?

I have the HD 5450 and the HD 6450. The HD 5450 works perfectly with sleep/awake. The HD 6450 does sleep but won't wake. Get the HD 5450.

Thanks. As it happens I already have the HD 6450. I think I might just keep it, rather than return it to change for a 5450, because I intend for this hack to be permanently on anyway - I won't use sleep at all. Thank you!

I'm still in the process of upgrading the installed W7 to W10. I'll let W10 install, activate, then I'll wipe it and proceed hackintoshing. I don't want Windows now but in future, who knows. Maybe I'll sell this computer one day and the buyer will want W10. Takes a long time to upgrade though!

Does the Computer have a Windows 7 Product Key sticker on it?

If so, any new owner would be able to activate a fresh install of Windows 10 using the Windows 7 product Key from the sticker on the computer.

There is no need to go through all of the Windows 7 to Windows 10 updates anymore. :)

You only need to use Windows 10, build 1511 or newer. ;)

From Microsoft:

We have received a lot of feedback from Insiders on making it easier to activate Windows 10 on devices that take advantage of the free upgrade offer to genuine Windows by using existing Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 product keys. If you install this build of the Windows 10 Insider Preview on a PC and it doesn’t automatically activate, you can enter the product key from Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 used to activate the prior Windows version on the same device to activate Windows 10 by going to Settings > Update & security > Activation and selecting Change Product Key. If you do a clean install of Windows 10 by booting off the media, you can also enter the product key from prior Windows versions on qualifying devices during setup.

So I starting trying to install OS X, looks like I'm stuck at the first hurdle. I get a black screen on booting the install from Clover. I restarted, went in to BIOS, reset all to defaults then changed SATA operation to AHCI. Restarted, pressed F12, selected USB device, selected from Clover boot “Mac OS X from El Capitan USB Installer” (but I choose to boot verbose) and it starts.. but then soon gives me a black screen. The attached picture is right before the black screen.

If it helps, I have a Dell Optiplex 780, 4gb RAM, 500gb HDD and Sapphire 11190-09-20G AMD Radeon HD 6450 Silent 2GB DDR3 Graphics Card.
