Slice
There are several users claim that recent VoodooHDA 2.8.7 panics when AC3 sound output on Digital connector (SPDIF or HDMI). As well they said that version 2.7.4 works without KP. I have both sources and want to make the better driver. I need testings. There are "working" version 2.7.4 and "non-working" 2.8.8-test. Pay attention on info.plist: InhibitCache = true/false Noise = 0 .. 15 Boost = 0/1/2 Please report, what is happen. PS: My comp has no such problem RESOLVED! #3 EDITED: old downloads removed. Slice
To reproduce the bug you have to open a movie with AC3 sound track in VLC and redirect output on digital device
Slice
OK, I know that there is no KP if Boost=0. This is final version. No more KP! Slice
VoodooHDA is based on drivers Linux ALSA? No. LGPL f...d Linux is unreliable to use its drivers somewhere else. They are quirky and bad smelled. VoodooHDA came from FreeBSD. I think your question about HMDI? VoodooHDA works with HDMI on most computers. Check other conditions.
