Well, this is my config.plist at the moment; it works with El Capitan 10.11.5 and macOS Sierra DP1 ... I think it supports the Nvidia Quadro 2000 quite well. I use also patched DSDT and SSDT, stepping and sleep seem to be OK (not sure about turbo boost) but still some usual ;-) minor USB issues.

I was under the impression that MacOs Sierra didn't need any special config.plist to be able to boot but I made my USB installer still night and I keep getting kernel panic. I used the same efi folder for El Capitan. The only thing I did was copy all the kexts from 10.11 folder to the other folder. I'll give it a twirl again later tonight. Anyone could chime in, let me know.

Hi Blaggah,  this is my EFI Folder booting El Capitan as well as DP1. Credit and thanks for patched DSDT goes to Rockey12 for the DSDT in post #512 which worked on my machine. I tried to fix mine for myself, but always got errors and kernel panics ... :-( I think there may be still some optimizations necessary, but boot is boot ... :D

THEOLDSHARK thank you for your EFI file I see you for the graphic acceleration functions, so tomorrow I will try to use your file to see if it works for me. I also have a GEFORCE Quadro 2000 under the hand (in case), but I'd like it to work with GTX 960, I will do tests and I will tell you. Thanks again

So i just tried your efi folder for and it got further this time and it looked promising for a while but ended up KP in the end and restarted.  I guess i'll be Sierra-less until it's released  :(

Sorry to hear that ... Did you use Clover_v2.3k_r3599 as I did? Maybe we use diffrent CPUs, so the SSDT might be a problem? My Z400 also boots this configuration without SSDT and NullCPUPowerManagement in 10.11 and 10.12 folder of clover.

I literally just left the PC now im up in my room on P690.  I did use clover_v2.3k_r3599 to make it. I removed the ssdt because I know we have different CPUs.

I see. Could you see a reason for KP? What about the NullCPUPowerManagement.kext, this worked for me? It's strange, I had no troubles in booting into Sierra except PM and USB issues ... Did you update Bios (3.60)? Maybe anyone else can help?

I seem to be experiencing higher than normal GPU temperatures (85C-100C) when doing nothing that is graphics intensive on my Z400 running El Capitan 10.11.5 with a Quadro 4000.  Has anyone else experienced issues with GPU temperatures?

I just finished my installation guid for Z800 with BIOS 3.60 thanks to Rockey12

Feel free to test and validate if working for you.

My El Capitan installation procedure for Z800 with BIOS 3.60

HW Specification :

HP Z800  with BIOS version : 3.60

CPU: x2 6-core X5650 @ 2.67 GHz

RAM: 24 GB

GFX:  EVGA GeForce GTX 780 Ti, 3GB, 3072MB,GDDR5 384bit

SSD: 256 GB  SSD: CrosAir Force GT

Monitor: Samsung 4K, 3840 x 2160 Resolution (UHD)

Before you begin ensure that you have a running OSX installation with following tools:

Start by downloading the following:

Create El Capitan Installation media on a USB (16Gb or more)

  • Start “Easy Universal Installer Eng.” and create the USB El Capitan installation media. (
    )
  • Install latest “Clover 3577” on to your USB (10.11 INSTALLER) and choose “Customized” and only check the following:

    "Bootloader/Install boot0af in MBR"

    "CloverEFI/CloverEFI 64-bits SATA"

  • Start the installation process and if you get a compatibility warning just continue the installation anyway
  • When finished mount the USB 10.11 INSTALLER’s EFI partition using “ESP Mounter Pro 1.0”
  • Copy EFI folder from "10.11INSTALLER/" to mounted EFI partition "EFI/"
  • Copy downloaded DSDT to "EFI/EFI/CLOVER/ACAPI/Patched/"
  • Copy “LegacyAppleAHCIPortIntelICHx.kext” to "EFI/EFI/CLOVER/KEXTS/10.11/"
  • Start Clover Configurator and open config.plist in EFI/EFI/CLOVER/
  • Go to  options and check  -v and nv_disable=1 and save
  • Now you are done with the USB installation media next is to install the OSX El Capitan

Install OSX El Capitan

  • Boot on USB, Install El Capitan, Reboot using the USB but this time choose the HDD with newly installed El Capitan
  • Install Clover to your HDD El Capitan partition, same as before
  • Mount USB 10.11 INSTALLER’s EFI partition and copy the EFI folder to your desktop, un-mount when done
  • Now mount the HDD El Capitan EFI partition and copy the EFI folder from your desktop to mounted EFI partition "EFI/"
  • Install this Kexts using Kext Utility "AppleHDA  & CodecCommander.kext"
  • Install nVidia drivers
  • Reboot without the USB and all should be working except for graphics and the wrong amount of RAM
  • Start Clover configurator and first go to "BOOT"  and uncheck “nv_disable=1” and check “nvda_drv=1” next go to "SMBIOS" and manually add the memory setup of your RAM by adding each slot and memory HW spec.
  • Reboot and now all should be working…

Hello, I am trying to get El Capitan installed on my HP z800. I have a dual hex xeon, 12-core system like yours.

I am using an Nvidia GT610 graphics card. I am using the Clover boot loader.

At boot I get a CPU panic and clover install fails.

Can you upload a working Clover EFI.zip folder so I can get my HP z800 installed?

Also what post install procedure did you use?

Which kexts do I need to install?

Are you able to get Sleep/wake to work?

-Thanks.

Our HP Z400.s. are the same with the exception of the video cards. Those DSDT,s. work fine for me so I am assuming that  having a different card might be why you had no luck.. There again your config.plist may be somewhat different.

Hello, I have an HP z400 with Hex core Xeon and an Nvidia GT610 graphics card. I have created an El Capitan install USB drive however it fails in the install process.

Can you upload a working Clover EFI.zip folder so I can get my HP z400 installed ?

Are you able to get Sleep/wake to work?

Also what post install procedures do I need to follow?

What kexts do I need to install?

Are you able to get Sleep/wake to work?

- Thanks

I think I got the r9 270 working.... But don't know how lol

@tyler2016

incorrect settings? incorrect framebuffer?

@Rockey12

You need not change the DSDT when the HD 5770 performs well. The data are for information purposes only.

if then here, I think:
