wrk73
Well, after apply the kext all my usb port not working. I can't even enter anything or move my mouse to change the value or rebuild cache. Even on single user mode. Any idea how to rebuild cache after remove dummy kext outside of osx?

telepati
Hello all, My AW-CE123H BCM94352HMB bluetooth doesn't work with RehabMan brcmPatchRam2.kext, I used the tutorial and add all ports in my DSDT to the original kext and everything works perfectly. This is how I did my HP x360 i7-4510u HD4400. El Capitan 10.11 released version. Cheers, Louis Hi I watched your video. You didn't use any FakePCIID.kext you just add port from DSDT to original AppleUSB kext. Your way looks much easier to me can I use your way for desktop? Last night I tried other ways but I lost my all USB port and Bluetooth I can't reach my any connection. Now Im scaring to something wrong? Other question are you using DSDT generally cause Im not? fermolino
Read the guides before asking questions! I did it. I've the plist files and I opened it but I don't understand which lines I have to remove with the TextEditor. Maybe can you help me with this? I attached the two plist files: Can you remove the port restriction for the iMac 15,1, please? You find attached the two plist and DSDT files; my SMBIOS is iMac 15,1. I would really appreciate that. chemary85
After read above all post, i can't get my pcie usb 3.0 AsMedia working, any ideas how to patch it? I try adding pci to dsdt (don't work), changing ID to USBXHCIPCI.kext (Don't work), using Dummy kexts (don't work), and finally trying to get work GenericUSBXHCI.kext, but or get a Kernel Panic, or broke all usb of motherboard and system. My mobo Gigabyte EX58-UD3R (Clover legacy) Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

crackpotmgee
Thanks for the guide. I have tried every method of injecting ports and modifying DSDT and I have had some progress. My devices attached to EHC2 are showing in ioreg but not on EHC1. I got two out of 3 usb 3.0 devices working. Still no bluetooth. I am using SMBIOS macbook pro 9,2. attached are my IOUSBHostFamily kext, my ioreg and my dsdt. They are inside the zip. Thanks. Necrosan
With 10.11.1 beta just modifying the plist for the MacPro6,1 definition no longer seems to work. (Only 2 USB2 ports work regardless of edits performed in AppleUSBEHCIPCI.kext Info.plist) I now have to use iMac14,2 SMBIOS to get all USB 2 ports working. Previously had added my port restriction info properly + modified DSDT as needed, hope it's just an issue in the beta but I have a feeling it will carry over to 10.11.1 release. EDIT: After playing around for the past hour, looks like removing the USB2 devices from the DSDT gets everything working without touching /S/L/E.
altares
Hi, I have a kernel panic on every restart/shutdown of my hack backtracing to IOUSBHostFamily and IOUSBFamily. I have all my USB ports working fine without touching anything (used latest Clover without DSDT). My motherboard is Z87X-UD3H. Do you have a clue about this? I have all my USB ports working fine without touching anything (used latest Clover without DSDT). My motherboard is Z87X-UD3H. Do you have a clue about this? Same here on my Asus X79-Deluxe. It takes me about 8 to 10 reboots to get past the panic, but then all my USB3/2 work OOB literally with correct speeds. I wish someone could explain how this is possible. Other users with the same Asus X79 chipset motherboards have to disable ASMedia USB3 and that takes care of the Panic but not in my case, must be processor related because that is the last variable, i7-2697 v2 Ivy bridge 12 core processor. All other users have either 4 core or 6 core. I have to use the dummyUSBXHCI kext to get past the panic. Through a lot of effort in debugging, I figured out why the dummy kext is preventing the Panic. I striped away all the code/script in iokitpersonalities to prove it. The version difference must be preventing the AppleUSBXHCIPCI.kext from loading because the dummy has version 1.0 and the one in /S/L/E has version 1.01. So its either this kext causing the kernel panic or possibly the HostMergeProperties kext in IOUSBHostFamily.kext, plugins. Its one or the other or both. By using the dummy kext stripped down, all USB2 work as all other devices in my system work. System is also stable thanks to this dummy kext!! I am still investigating this issue but we may have to wait for a new USB3 3rd party driver. Is your USB3 intel or 3rd party?

The only way your USB3 ports are working if you're using ASmedia chipset for USB3 is if you are running the GenericXHCI kext which I can guarantee you are if you affirm they are working. (It will still be in /S/L/E after an upgrade) If you delete the EUSB/USBE devices in you DSDT (or delete them via SSDT) you can stop using/modifying any additional kexts at all in /S/L/E for USB2. (And your panic will be gone)

I had a SSDT with EUSB and USBE devices disabled in SSDT and I still get the kernel panic. If its not the CPU then what is it? Maybe disabling them in SSDT is not good enough? I say its the CPU because Hangten has the same motherboard with an i7-4820 quad core and he has his ASMedia enabled in bios and has no Kernel Panic when he boots, but all his USB 2 are disabled as far as I know. I checked his SSDT and he has no code in it to diable EUSB or USBE. I will look further into this but maybe I need DSDT and disable the EUSB and USBE in there instead of SSDT? Necrosan
What SMBIOS are you emulating? Can you post up your IOReg please? I will look further into this but maybe I need DSDT and disable the EUSB and USBE in there instead of SSDT? No need, if you modify it in either one the job will be done. Something odd is going on here. Need to see IOReg to diagnose further. (I run 4930K on rampage iv black for what it's worth) P.S. You _DO_ have a DSDT you've made, right?

Smbios is iMac14,2 and tried MacPro6,1 etc. With MacPro6,1 I get a black screen with EVGA Nvidia GTX-770. I have to enter the board-id of imac14,2 in Smbios then I can use MacPro6,1. Its almost like it bypasses the apple ACPI or whatever I don't get it!! I do believe this is the key to get ASMedia to work. Necrosan
Your issue lies in not having a DSDT, although I am not sure which change in particular is causing your current issue. I use the patchset provided on tonymac. I believe RampageDev makes a patchset for your board in particular. ( http://www.rampagedev.com/?page_id=19 ) I also can boot Xeon E5-2697 v2 with no issues with this DSDT, FYI. I also am very surprised your USB3 ports are working at all. I would bet the ASMX spam messages will also be resolved when you get a proper DSDT put together. (You shouldn't have to pass a ton of options to clover to get booted)

The DSDT is the one I generated with MacIASL, so I have not done any ACPI patching in clover. Do you have the X79-Deluxe Mb?
altares
Is your USB3 intel or 3rd party? Intel and Renesas. I didn't find an option in the bios to deactivate the later. I did try adding a DSDT and SSDT but I keep having kernel panics on reboots/shutdown. Sorry, but your Kext argument got me a bit confused, why would I need dummyUSBXHCI for when all of my USB ports seem to work OOTB?

It worked for and may not work for you. It would seem to be an isolated case because I have other users who have not observed the same thing I have!! altares
Guys, I messed up and have put the two dummy kexts (ripped of their personnality) in SLE and now none of my USB ports are working and I can't figure out how to access my system without using a keyboard... Any idea how to do it? Of course, Clover is still accessible with my keyboard but even when booting in safe mode, the kexts get loaded (or maybe the cache or something).
