wern apfel
You should edit only the verde.kext, no other files. The Radeon HD 7770 should work OOB with the verde patch.

polyzargone
Verde.kext not works in 10.13 macOS High Sierra with Radeon HD 7770 GPU (1 GB)please help Same thing happened last year with Sierra DP1. Was fixed in DP2 by the system itself, not a new version of Verde.kext. So I guess we just need to wait next release… In the meantime, editing the AMDRadeonX4000.kext as per post #1 should do the trick but it's important to NOT use Verde.kext as well.

polyzargone
As I said, it's the AMDRadeonX4000.kext that you need to edit. Try the one attached and don't forget to repair permissions and rebuild cache with Kext Wizard or Kext Utiliy. And again, delete any Verde.kext in your system. wern apfel
I've never used a verde.kext, but here is a FakeSMC.kext which works here on HighSierra. You don't need to edit any system files! FakeSMC.kext_with_verde_patch.zip

wern apfel
If it doesn't work, you've probably enabled the ATI injection, which is not recommended if you don't patch the injected frame buffer. Choose inject ATI = false

mitch_de
I have an system without integrated GPU (in the cpu). I use Quad Q9550, is an cpu only. Will it work without that? Or must i have integrated gpu for using that fakeSMC_verde version to get AMD 7xxx working?

It will work, but this patch is only for the black screen after boot up, and not after wake up and it only works for AMD verde cards. An IGPU is only needed to wake up properly.

Until sometimes i buy new boud/cpu with IGPU
