mymac999
Hi, I tried the USB installer on my Dell Insoiron 1720 (T7250, nvidia 8600m gt, alps touchpad) both with and without a dsdt in the extras folder. There seem to be some issues with my alps touchpad - the ApplePS2Controller times out, then voodoops2mouse is loaded, then Darwin SYstem Bootstrapper is loaded and a panic type 14=page fault is displayed. Is the installer in this thread suitable for a notebook installation or for desktop only? I used it with the Install Yosemite 10.10.20 app. There's a different thread here for the dell Inspiron but I can't find the USB installer app used there (2570 v7) - it's on maintenance. Thanks for any help!

mjames21
Awesome, thank you for the guide, works great!! Precision 690 w/2 3ghz dual core Xeon, 16GB RAM. I have to use PCIRootUID=4 boot option in order for the graphics card to work... So if I change the PCI Root UID in the DSDT to Zero, this should fix the problem of having to use the boot option above? Thanks again!

One particular guy by the name of ATL Shogun from youtube has a video showing his Precision 690 in action and stated that you need the MY171 Rev. A02 motherboard or above in order to run 2 quad core cpus.
