mnfesq Posted February 5, 2015 Share Posted February 5, 2015 When you start the photo app, the first thing it wants to do is convert your iPhoto library to work with the new photo app. If you have a lot of photos, be prepared to wait a long time while it converts. Per hour for some users can installed and use without problem, but is beta and is good you take care with this. mnfesq Posted February 24, 2015 Share Posted February 24, 2015 Version 14D87h installed without incident. So far, it appears to be more stable than the prior version. Version 14D72i crashed/restarted on me a few times and I got these flashing graphics artifacts that would go away if I switched to a second desktop and switched back. I haven't experienced that with the new build. The new photos app is working fine for me. I'm no more a fan of the new app than I was of the iPhotos app. EDIT: I am getting the artifacts again and am wondering if my graphics chip (Intel HD4000) is starting to give out. Also, I couldn't get the colon character to appear for this edit comment unless I put a space between the word EDIT and the colon. Weird. Rebooting fixed it. I think that processor is not yet the upper limit, on the contrary memory is. 8 Gb is below average. I can wait Skylake, this machine is lightweight home machine. I have time.
