mikeybrown Posted January 15, 2015 Share Posted January 15, 2015 Network intermittently slow on OSx86 10.10 (Yosemite) on Dell OptiPlex 780 Aloha all, I've successfully built my first hackintosh, following this guide http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/302877-guide-mavericks-1010x-dell-optiplex-780-760/ I have the same specs recommended in the guide, using a 2gb version of the video card. Everything runs smoothly except for the internet, which runs intermittently super slow (more often then not). I've run internet speed tests which seem to give me false readings, because it's the same up/down speeds as my MacBook Pro on wifi (no problems). I followed the guide step by step, so I'm not sure where to start. Please let me know what info you need from me if you can help. Thanks for any help! Forgot to mention, I swapped cat6 cables and ports on my router, so that's not the issue. This is really pissing me off because I can't even print an Amazon RMA because the page keeps loading only up to the shipping label. Try launching a terminal and doing a ping 8.8.8.8 Leave it running for a while, say 500-1000 and see if you get dropped packets... If so thats the first clue something is wrong .. Well, I downloaded and installed the Beta Access Utility, but didn't realize it updates via the App Store. I couldn't connect to it before this install, and still can't connect, if that means anything. I have the same problem you got: Random connections problems to different websites and ongoing connection problem with the App Store. It must be a driver problem because I tried a Wi-Fi Adapter which works great. But i really need 1Gb-LAN so I hope there is a solution. I wrote an in-depth post about the problem HERE. (Sorry for crossposting, came across this question after posting mine) Without extensive tests the installation of AppleIntelE1000e.kext seems to have solved the problem. See HERE for step-by-step.
