It is kinda fun trying hard to fix a problem but sometimes it is worth investing time in something more valuable. It seem to me your Yosemite partition and/or the whole disk may have issues and if I were you I would try a clean install instead. Use a software like MacDrive in Windows or a Linux system if you have one to backup your important files from Yosemite partition and do a clean install. Just my 2 cents ... intruder16
I'm not sure if you still need it or you have it already but here it is. AppleHDA works OOB after update to 10.10.4? or did you rollback AppleHDA to 10.10.3? Thanks! ahmed intruder_16 this what happened .... ....after that Mac just turned off and then whenever i selects the Apple Logo it turns My Lappy off Hope this help you Ignore the first image it was taken long back If it's still giving errors, then i guess you should start fresh. For me, after 2-3 attempts it was all good. Took me near about half an hour. As i've suggested in post #539 and ahmed_ais in post above, backup imp files using MacDrive from windows and re-install Yosemite again.
Prathamesh555
Yeah thats the only Solution I got for now no problem the only problem i have with reinstalling is I have to install android Studio again which is a pain in ass cause it takes almost 20 GIG of space and takes much of time anyways Working in mac is lot more efficient than working on crappy Windows and about backing up I learnt my lesson last time so I backup my files on Github I was lucky to get my app back from the partition however my one sample app got corrupted than Ahmed I didn't knew we can backup from Windows I used Ubuntu and some basic cmd tricks to get the File back

It works OOB and I checked the kext modified date and found it to be in March so I guess 10.10.4 did not touch AppleHDA at all. EDIT: The 10.10.4 updates AppleHDA but I use the un-patched kext and I didn't have to do anything to have audio working.

I posted about MacDrive before. You can also access Mac partition pretty easily from ubuntu too. Do a google search before always. EDIT: Also search about "Time Machine". It's a great feature. It works OOB and I checked the kext modified date and found it to be in march so I guess 10.10.4 did not touch AppleHDA at all. Great! So AppleHDA is not included in 10.10.4 update then. Thanks! beBoss
Still no success... Made everything and used your config file, when clover booted, chose to load from Yosemite efi, then showed me the apple logo and restarted. After restart windows load, so something's wrong. Not sure that I have to use clover for booting, will try "Chameleon" and hope it will works for me.

Try to boot OS X in verbose mode and see when it restart and why .. a screenshot or last few lines before restart can help diagnosing. ... Not sure that I have to use clover for booting, will try "Chameleon" and hope it will works for me. You don't have to use Clover at all, it is just easier once you know your way around considering the benefits of injecting kexts and hot-patching that Chameleon lacks AFAIK. brutalMac2
Great! So AppleHDA is not included in 10.10.4 update then. ahmed_ais
Great! So AppleHDA is not included in 10.10.4 update then. Thanks! I checked the 10.10.4 update.pkg and AppleHDA.kext is included and updated indeed: Although the Kext folder last modified in March, the binary itself, however, last modified date is 28 May so I guess you may need to take a closer look. I use the untouched kext with Clover hot-patches and DummyHDA and I did not need any other fixes but that might not be the case for those who use patched AppleHDA. I also edited my post above to correct my wrong statement about this.
wikkid
Hello all, I've been lurking around for a while researching and reading. Finally decided to give it a go. I am posting here to ask for help. I can not seem to get audio working. I've tried both methods suggested by intruder16. I first tried installing the modified AppleHDA.kext with Kext Wizard. Then when that didn't work, I actually did a clean install of osx and tried the other method, installing DummyHDA.kext and EAPDFix.kext wtih Kext Wizard, as well as applying the appropriate patches to KextsToPatch. (And I did repair permissions and rebuild cache after each attempt) Neither have worked for me. I've tried researching people who've had issues with this AppleHDA.kext and it seems it works for most. My EFI Folder: https://www.dropbox.com/s/d3tcv4zqpfgc3rc/EFI.zip?dl=0 My config.plist: https://www.dropbox.com/s/fq74apx6hzbynnx/config.plist?dl=0 Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! P.S. I know I don't have everything done yet, but I've been stuck on this darned audio for 2 days now.

P.S. I know I don't have everything done yet, but I've been stuck on this darned audio for 2 days now. You should fix Power Management first. I see you have NullCPUPowerManagement in clover/kexts/10.10 folder. You do not need it. Patched DSDT and SSDT's are necessary for a proper working system. I see you already have extracted ACPI files from clover. You have 1 SSDT missing though and i guess its related to dGPU. Did you disable Nvidia in BIOS? If yes, then enable it, we'll disable it only for mac using SSDT. It'll hardly take you 5 minutes to patch your ACPI tables. Use the DSDT Auto-Patcher (link in OP) and follow steps to generate patched DSDT/SSDT's for your system and copy them to Acpi/patched/. Don't forget to remove NullCPUPowerManagement and configure config.plist to drop OEM tables. About the Intel GFX part, everything seems OK to me from here. If you have any problems with graphics post here. Now, about AppleHDA. Which OS X version are you using? Did you try booting without caches? Read the guide carefully. Almost everything is already posted in OP. patched AppleHDA isn't working after update to 10.10.4 for me) I've just reinstalled patched AppleHDA from 10.10.3 and it's working now (no reboot needed) If you used modified/patched AppleHDA.kext it won't work after update. Use DummyHDA for that. Thanks for confirming! I checked the 10.10.4 update.pkg and AppleHDA.kext is included and updated indeed: Although the Kext folder last modified in March, the binary itself, however, last modified date is 28 May so I guess you may need to take a closer look. I cannot update to 10.10.4 yet as i am travelling and have limited bandwidth.
wikkid
Thank you for responding, intruder16. I promise you, i've read this guide, the guides it links to, and other guides all over the web. I don't ask for help without doing my research. But this is all very new to me (under the hood OSX stuff), so it just doesn't seem to be sinking in like Windows stuff would. I will remove NullCPUPowerManagement, enable nvidia (I do have the nv_disable=1 arg, not sure if that's all it takes to keep it off in osx), re extract acpi tables (because I believe I read if you change anything in bios, re-do the tables), and patch/move them to clover patched. I tried both methods for AppleHDA in both 10.10.3 and 10.10.4. I haven't had any luck. Could messed up acpi tables cause AppleHDA to not work? Using SSDT edit it can be completely turned off (or removed from detection). ....I tried both methods for AppleHDA in both 10.10.3 and 10.10.4. I haven't had any luck. Could messed up acpi tables cause AppleHDA to not work? Can you confirm you have a Realtek ALC282 codec? Use linux for confirming. Use following commands in terminal: cat /proc/asound/card0/codec#1 > ~/Desktop/codec_dump.txt or cat /proc/asound/card0/codec#0 > ~/Desktop/codec_dump.txt I'm not sure about ACPI tables, but if you inject different layout id other than "3" (which my AppleHDA uses) through DSDT then it will. Also, i don't know who wins after injecting diff layout id in both clover and DSDT.

wikkid
Ok, so I have deleted NullCPUPowerManagement, extracted my acpi tables and patched them with the DSDT Auto-Patcher. Also enabled Drop OEM_Tables under DSDT and SSDT. I checked in linux, and card0 reports as Intel Haswell HDMI. So I checked card1, and it's the Realtek codec. Perhaps digging through the AppleHDA thread I can find how to change which card it's looking at? Would I be barking up the wrong tree? [edit] ok, now audio is working. I think it started working after I applied the brightness fix [/edit] Thank you again for your assistance.

wikkid
Yeah checked the junk/spam folders no go. And tested across a few big email hosts (office 365, gmail and yahoo) and no luck with any of them. So I assume it's a temp issue on their end. Thank you very much for attaching the file for the time being. Installing and testing now.

beBoss
Ohhh can't understand why doesn't load... I made everything as the tutorial, 1. Changed my boot options to UEFI, 2. Copied both kext files (voodoo and fakesmc) 3. Deleted VBoxHFS.efi and paste HFSPlus.efi in Drivers64UEFI 4. Used PlistEdit Pro and Clover configurator (the second only to generate MacBookPro11,1) the first one for the options from the tut. 5. Clover options are the same as the tutorial only! And When I boot this showed me: then and 2, 3 sec after the Apple logo was showed the laptop restarts and load clover boot again and it's exactly the same as before restart. What am I missing?
