DavidRocha
The serial number should match the MLB? Running the script, the two are different, compared to 13 digits of MLB. The Recommended is to use the 13 or 17 digits? In Mac has a sequence and ROM has another in RTVariables I place which of the two, MAC or ROM? http://i.imgur.com/E1kkhZD.png

Rankrotten
I simply used the MLB/ROM values and created a new UUID incorporating the ROM values, all had been well for months until the inability to send messages occurred yesterday morning. I'll try to log back in after three days and see if it has resolved. Was using a 13 character MLB with a newer iMac 14.1 system definition Five days later and it's still not working. Alien::X
Rankrotten may be you on 10.10.2 beta update to stable version or try with new MLB and ROM ROM is always a MAC address .... Rankrotten
ROM is always a MAC address .... Add your Mac address...... as ROM 13 char is most recommended..... Not always. On current hardware ROM is a subset of Thunderbolt MAC address with some additional specific characters. Older hardware can have ROM derived from either Ethernet or Firewire depending on model. I was using apple derived genuine MLB and ROM from a non internet/iMessage connected Mac Mini.

I have a super pc with Yosemite 10.10.2 perfectly works :3 and I want to use the original value ROM, MLB, Serial number from my broken iMac on this for imessage and facetime My problem? I have only the serial number (11 value) of this iMac because I can't turn it on. Any idea on how I can get the MLB and ROM? There is any code on the motherboard? egore24
Hello all. I have been following this thread since it began. As of recent, it seems most people are achieving success by cloning existing values from defunct hardware. My question is, has anyone been able successfully construct a valid synthetic 17 character MLB and associated values to activate iMessage and FaceTime on a hack? In other words, not cloning known values from other hardware. I don't have another Mac laying around to extract these values from. I would like to properly build the needed values to activate these OS X components. Specifically, I'm attempting to build values for an iMac 13,2 Any thoughts would be great! Thanks. DroID969
Hello guys! I need your help with contacting Apple for fixing logging in iMessage. I generated my MLB (17 char) and injected it. Everything is OK but I'm getting error message which wanys me to contact Apple Support for activating iMessage. And it's normal for self-generated MLB's as I understood. But there is no phone number of Apple Support in country where I live (Belarus). Maybe someone can call them and give my customer code for them (I will send it in PM)? It will be great if somebody will help me.

Unless you know its firewire MAC address, you'll also have to generate a new ROM and call Apple anyway to white list the MLB/ROM combo. In your case, its probably easier to generate all the values and calling Apple support following the procedure in post#227 eg iMac 9,1 20 inch Early 2009, Model No A1224 EEE=29X for 2.66GHz model (according to macpartsonline) so CCCC=29XA Say it was made in week 23, production number 5168... Hence our generated MLB will be PP=W8, Year=2009, Week=23, Production No=5168 (decimal)=03ZK (Base36), CCCC=29XA ---> W892303ZK29XA

(this part it's random choise? "01-52" for the week ) i dont understand the PP = Manufacturing location ID = "W8" anyway: PP=W8, Year=2009, Week=23, Production No=5168 (decimal)=03ZK (Base36), CCCC=4P0A ---> W892303ZK4P0A (this is a synth value no? XD) it's cool XD in this way I can avoid to disassemble the iMac... but for the ROM? the ROM is the mac address of my ethernet card no? my question is: on Clover what should I have to do? I have to use the Serial Number of the iMac with this MLB "W892303ZK4P0A" and the ROM that is my mac address mixed with the first 6 characters of "Apple Prefix" code.? the smBIOS that I have to use must be of an iMac 9,1, considering that I will use the serial number of this iMac broken?
fusion71au
@Vorshim92, Looking at iMac mainboards listed on eBay, most are manufactured in China so PP=W8 or J5. For the 24 inch IMac 9,1 Early 2009, here are some real world examples (look carefully at the mainboard photos ): 24 Inch A1225 3.06GHz: PP=W8 CCCC=7Y5A 24 Inch A1225 2.93GHz: PP=J5 CCCC=7Y7A For ROM, you can use your hack's ethernet MAC address but replacing the first 6 characters with an Apple prefix. In terms of Clover's config.plist, at a minimum, just replace the MLB & ROM values in RtVariables with the ones we have just generated. If you want to be more complete in matching the iMac's IDs, you can also safely change system serial, board-id and SmUUID in SMBIOS/config.plist to the real Mac's value (these are OPTIONAL). Note - changing the ProductName/Mac Model to a different SMBIOS (eg to the same as the original Mac) may affect power management/sleep and other functions on the hack. In a worst case scenario, it may prevent the hack from booting if the hardware is too different from the original Mac.
UNOE
I have a broken Mac book that won't boot has a bad video card and not worth fixing. Can I get a valid ROM/MLB from taking it apart and looking at the board serial ?
