userabhishek
Hello, I recently installed OSX86 10.4.7 (JaS) and realised that almost everything worked except for the sound, i have been trying to figure out how to make sound work ever since. If someone could please give me a simple solution with the correct steps to solve this problem, i would be very happy. wanpakboy
I had to do the azalia patch 3 times I think to get it working. you might want to try lower cased letters in the device and id and what not. might not have anyting to do with it but when I switched to lower cased it decided to work

McSkywalker
ptesone, 1002 is the vendor ID of Ati. I say check it again.
ptesone
ptesone, 1002 is the vendor ID of Ati. I say check it again. When I'm booted in XP and goto Device Manager under Sound I have listed: SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio the properties of that are: VEN_1002 DEV_4341 so since it's actually an ATI chipset does this mean I have to start going thru AC'97 compatible threads? thorne
ptesone, 1002 is the vendor ID of Ati. I say check it again. Hey there, I can confirm this is correct. I have an HP Pavilion zx5280. It has an ATI chipset (RS300). The integrated audio is indeed SoundMAX, VEN_1002 & DEV_4341. So, how do we get this working? Anyone?
Slice
Hey there, I can confirm this is correct. I have an HP Pavilion zx5280. It has an ATI chipset (RS300). The integrated audio is indeed SoundMAX, VEN_1002 & DEV_4341. So, how do we get this working? Anyone? Yes, it is ATI sound. There is a topic about it with successful working driver http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...mp;#entry485714 why you don't find it? But one problem still exits as I say at the end of the thread.

I will go try out the driver in your linked post now. EDIT: Hey Slice - Copied the kext to /System/Library/Extensions, set appropriate permissions, and rebooted. Sound is working now. THANKS! -Thorne
