Hi guys,

 

My Theme Manager gets stuck at "Connecting to repository". And I'm pretty sure it's because the git port is blocked in my case (long story, no point to go into details).

 

I usually get around this by simply replacing git://git.address with http://git.address.

 

Problem is, I don't know where can I adjust that address.

 

Also, I couldn't find ~/Library/Preferences/org.black.CloverThemeManager.plist. Probably because in this case the app is not installed/properly initialised?

 

No idea. I can access the Repo in browser. So I'm pretty sure it's not a problem on that side.

 

Thing is: can anyone confirm the app is using a git:// protocol? And if yes, any idea how can I change that?

EDIT: I just noticed there is someone with the same issue above. Probably the same cause, too...? :))

 

Would be cool if actually changing the protocol from git:// to http:// would actually fix this issue for everyone.

I don't need to set up git. :) I just need to access the repository from within the app. I have the same issue with a lot of the scripts on the forum. :)

 

The difference being that I can edit those pretty easily. Whereas in this case, I'm afraid I might need to download the source code, edit and then compile.

 

Problem is, I don't know which file do I need to edit, in order to have the app connect through http protocol instead of git.

You need setup Git or Install Command Line tools

I see... Alright, I'll try that too.

 

But I'm confused. In my case it actually says "git installed"...

 

For as far as I can tell from the error, it's installed, it just can't connect to it.

Did you have install Command Line tools ?

Well, same issue with git manually installed.

And yes, I do have Xcode and command Line Tools installed.

 

Looking at the log, I can see it tries to connect to: git://git.code.sf.net/p/cloverefiboot/themes. Which kinda proves what I was trying to say before. :)

 

Any idea where is this address set up?

I really don't know ? no issue here on all of my Hackintosh machine

Yeah. :) It's not a hackintosh issue. It's a network issue. That protocol is blocked in my case. It works perfectly fine over http.

 

Meaning that, if the address would be http://git.code.sf.net instead of git://git.code.sf.net, everything would work just fine.

Yeah, but what I was trying to say is that the URLs are not the same (not sure if they should be). Maybe not.

 

So http://git.code.sf.net is a blank page (although that too is a SF link).

But http://sourceforge.net is ok.

 

So...which one is the correct URL? And...why is the first one dead?

 

Problem is the app is trying to connect tot he first URL for some reason.

Then try using vpn services, via HotspotShield, TunnelBlick or whatever.. Go to CTM.app menu, choose Clean CTM and relaunch it. Good luck :)

I just Update one of my theme in_box see picture URLs

 

Maiby you need to remove  CloverThemeManager Folder

Users/Library /Application Support /  CloverThemeManager

Relaunch the app

it seems to me that blackosx had already told users to do this

Yeah, I think this one is more than invisible. :) It's just not there.

And yes, it's the same result if I input "CloverThemeManager". It just didn't fit to take screenshot with the entire path.

 

There is just nothing Clover or Clover related in there.

It's already visible. :) And there is no CloverThemeManager anywhere in Users/[username]/Library/. I think that sums it up.

 

In fact the only two locations where I have CloverThemeManager folder (in the ENTIRE system) are:

 

1. /Users/[username]/src/edk2/Clover/CloverPackage/package/Scripts.templates/CloverThemeManager

2. /Users/[username]/src/edk2/Clover/CloverPackage/CloverThemeManager

 

Both of which are used to build Clover. So not related. There is no such folder anywhere else. Believe me. Hidden files are ON (meaning they are shown), by the way. :)) So that's not a problem. If it was there, I would have found it by now.

So this is  the issue 

If you launch the app this Folder is suppose to create

And you can Clean that Folder by the app

Yeah, probably some time after initialising the Repo (which I can't get through, as you well know)... 

 

Actually, I will try to install this exact version when I get home, and I'll let you know how it goes. But I'm pretty sure it's gonna work flawlessly.

 

And I will also check for that folder, on my home PC. I'm sure you're right about that location. Thing is, on THIS particular machine, that folder was never created. So, of course I can't find it.

 

But we'll see how it goes when I get home. Thanks for the feedback. :)

You are correct. There is an option there. :) Unfortunately, that doesn't make any difference to the initial issue.

Alright. I promised I'd come back with more info. So here I am.

 

After installing GIT separately, I just ran the application and everything went smoothly, past the repositories and all that.

 

So...i'd say it is a connectivity problem. And some ports might be blocked. Now, I'm only aware of the git port being blocked. That's why I was using http:// for any git URL. I'm not sure this is the issue in this case. But it could be. So I hope blackosx can take a look at it whenever possible.

 

In the meantime, here it is, installed properly on my home pc.

Also, there IS indeed a CloverThemeManager folder in /Users/[username]/Library/ApplicationSupport/ once everything is set up. The reason why it's not on the other computer, is because the app is not properly set up.
