sheepster
Tried to do the steps from the tutorial but all fields are left with a NoSelection and I can't write MLB or ROM. Any one experienced that?
Pike R. Alpha
@leodaniel, The topic title is a bit misleading, because you offer no fix but a workaround i.e. you have to use a registered MLB/ROM combination.
teddybearapple
MLB MLB MLB. That has saved me a lot. I can logout and sign in anytime. When I even swapped from Yosemite to Mavericks I signed in with a different ID and had no issues at all.
sheepster
Tried to do the steps from the tutorial but all fields are left with a NoSelection and I can't write MLB or ROM. Any one experienced that? Ok nevermind, managed to get it to work by rewriting the config.plist. It seems that mine had some errors. By the way, got imessages and facetime working. Used a real MLB and ROM as the tutorial instructed.
leodaniel
@leodaniel, The topic title is a bit misleading, because you offer no fix but a workaround i.e. you have to use a registered MLB/ROM combination. Yes I know , but it's a temporary solution... And I wrote this tutorial before we needed genuine MLB/ROM I am not a big fan of using genuine ID's, but actually it's the only solution I found which I can confirm working. And I have simply not enough time actually to research on other ways... (exam time...)
xouspring
If problem still exist, I think that's happened cause you trying to use, at same time, InjectSystemID (or CustomUUID) and SMBios on config.plist. Try to set just one of them — or SMBios (with SmUUID/ROM and MLB) or InjectSystemID. If u set properly SmUUID (in SMBios section) its already be used to set a ROM value, which means that's u only will need a MLB value on SMBios too. Hello i have the same problem. First time i tried to follow the guide all values were populated correctly but when i tried a second time because i thought iMessagedebug changed, system ID showed no value, and ROM variables is left empty. By the way all values in iMessagesdebug must be the same as those set? even Hardware UUID? Thanks
telepati
Have you followed my hole tutorial? Are you using real ROM/MLB? Yes but What do mean real ROM/MLB? This is my serial result on self.soft page on Apple? is this good thing or bad thing?
Allan
Yes but What do mean real ROM/MLB? This is my serial result on self.soft page on Apple? is this good thing or bad thing? See this: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/303073-pattern-of-mlb-main-logic-board/?p=2096574 iMessage/FT activation is all about the MLB/ROM combination, NOT system serial. I don't use a Real S/N. I just generate a random MLB and use a valid ROM, and: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/303073-pattern-of-mlb-main-logic-board/?p=2096311 I Follow this tip: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/303073-pattern-of-mlb-main-logic-board/?p=2096128 Try it!

Ok I read it. I have real iMac 9.1 and I got from there MLB/ROM with iMessage Debugv2. in SMBIOS and Rtvariables has MLB am I must to use same MLB SMBIOS and RTvariables? Allan
Ok. If you use the same value of MLB in Board-ID (SMBios) section, just put the ROM. Reboot the machine, verify if the values are persistent. If yes. Call to AppleSupport.
telepati
I didn't use same MLB. I don't get any Customer Code. But my iMessage finally worked without any problem. I still don't believe it. Thank you Allan.

Allan
Yes. And in this way is more easy and 99% sure it can work. For me works on 1º time.
foilage11
I wanted to report I now have iMessage working without a real MLB. I used the tool from http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/303073-pattern-of-mlb-main-logic-board/page-13 post #260 to generate a 13 digit MLB and I used the mac address from my Apple wifi card (from http://osxwifi.com (not sure if this is relevant?)) for the ROM. My smUUID is randomly generated with uuidgen and my serial is randomly generated by Clover Configurator. I received the customer code error and it took a one minute call to Apple and I'm sending and receiving SMS now! I'll add that I tried to use the 17 digit MLB generator by the same author and that didn't work. I received an error with no customer code.

mnfesq
I used foilage11's method to activate my iMessage and, while my call to Apple had me on hold for about 15-20 mins., everything works just fine now. I'll report if my session times-out or if I lose my activation.
