If you feel the need for a screen saver on your 5G iPod, check out TUAW’s short guide to making your own... If you’re not afraid to edit a few .kext files on your MacBook Pro to reduce temperatures by 5-10c, spend a few minutes looking at Rokem’s guide... A current Apple employee has begun anonymously blogging while “under a mask” and is about to "join the conversation"... As a result of the release of the Red Nano, the Fifth Avenue Store has decided to make a couple of their own changes as well... In our Design forum, a hot topic as of late has been one discussing annoying design trends on the web - be sure to let your voice be heard... Another interesting thread is based on a Wired article from the 90's entitled 101 Ways to Save Apple, and when looking at all 101 suggestions, you might be amazed at how many were used... A new 10.4.8 OSx86 release is apparently working on AMD machines... And finally, if you were ever suspicious that your Computer Science 101 prof was strung out on a little more than Java (tee hee), check out this video to confirm your worst fears. People do say that leaving the fans with teh new settings for awhile may cause a shortened life span, so use as you feel is safe. Suzuka Posted October 15, 2006 Share Posted October 15, 2006 Wow I see a 10 degree difference, It usually runs at 45 © now its at 35© All it does is make the fan run at lower temperatures, the life span thing will only affect laptops, maybe -20 minutes of battery life lost I'd like to point this app out ( http://homepage.mac.com/holtmann/eidac/sof...age5/page5.html ) but it does not support imacs or mac pros, if anyone wants to try and make another app for the iMac Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
