Rampage Dev
I just updated to bios F11 and use optimize Bios Settings. Install with a UB USB-disk whit patched kernel, cpus=1 and so on. After install boot again from USB an apply patch to /newinstall/System/Library/Kernels/kernel Reboot again from USB and choose newinstall Install Clover whit EmuVariable-64 and OsxOptiFixDrv-64 edit config with no DSDT patches so. Install VoodooTCSync.kext IntelEthernetkext and what even you like. Then reboot and it will run. Banned and broken install method. Edkroket
These are the minimal clover boot settings I found for working audio on my GA-X99-UD4. Could you specify what you did to have Audio working on your X99-UD4? The only way I have is with a modified AppleHDA kext but that gives me reboots and freezes. I use Clover as boot loader and have no dsdt. So if you could point me at what and how I would thank you for that.

Edkroket
Use the Post install method provided on my x99 DMG. Once again I did use step 1 to 5 At step 5 Audio patch I used audio_realtekALC-100_v1.0.3.command and audio_alc_x99-hda-100_patch.command as I have X99 with ALC 1150 No audio injection in Clover ( I used your config with my own SMBios), I used SSDT.aml from Step 4-GA-X99-UD4 V1.0 Nvidia as I have GTX 970 Again I have sound in systemprefs and about this mac! But there is still no sound? Here is my config, IO-reg and clover log Please Why is this so hard to get work? Archief.zip

critza
Hello guys im hoping that someone can shed some light on my problem i am having. I am trying to install 10.10.1 on a ASUS x99-e WS, 5960x and a GTX 970. I have gone through this thread, and tried alot of variables and different steps and still not luck. It feels like i am so close but i cant get past this damn PCI Configuration begin. When i see people get past this i dont know what i am doing wrong. I have followed cindoris guide and i still get stuck with PCI Configuration begin. Yesterday i upgraded to the latest BIOS for this board and no change. I tried -v -x -f npci=0x2000/3000 PCIRootUID0/1 CPUS=1 nv_disable=1 I have installed the USB 2 times making sure i have done the necessary steps, and i changed the SMBIOS from MacPro3,1 to 5,1 still PCI Configuration begin. Anyone have any ideas? I mean i cant install and reboot as some ppl like samtimbaud could do, i just get stuck at this stage on the initial installation. Best regards /Christer
Rampage Dev
What install method are you using? Also you need roll backs to boot with that CPU in 10.10.X.

Best regards /Christer for the 5960x you need to use the mavericks version of appleacpiplatform and iopcifamily. That's the only workaround right now but it works fine. Edit: oops we posted at the same time... Make sure you clear the kernel cache otherwise it will still be using the old kexts.
critza
[stinga11 pkg for 5960x] thats what i am using. I think i have cleared the kernel cache with Kextwizard? Im no pro with this so maybe i cant even do that?

I mean i read all the files from the USB every time so i cant clear the Kernel?I think the script that stinga11 put in that same post is supposed to do that, but you should be able to delete this from the USB drive: sudo rm -R /Volumes/nameofusbdrive/System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kext.caches/Startup/* let me know if that works. It sounds like the kexts are still cached to me, this happened to someone else as well and I forget what fixed it for them. Also make sure you're not using any pcirootuid=1 or anything

Now i am having other issues inside OS X. I installed the Webdriver for my 970 and it wont install properly, i cant open the Nvidia control panel, it just crashes, and i have strange graphics bugs like messed up GUIs. I still have to boot with -x to get into OSX. Since Clover is not compatible with my Motherboard yet i used another program. So im trying to sort this out now. Anyone seen these strange GPU behaviours?

I followed this guide for Audio on my X99-UD4 board - Audio_ID injection via clover [succeeded, ioreg shows correct layout id and system information shows Intel High Definition Audio, but no ports] - added the x99 ALC Onboard Audio in Clover configurator from the linked README file. - tried to run audio_cloverALC100.command but get the following output: Print: Entry, ":CFBundleShortVersionString", Does not Exist Error occurred, no S/L/E/Apple.HDA.kext installed No system files were changed I installed this on after a clean install, so the native AppleHDA kext is there! rkelleyrtp1
@btutz I ran into the exact same problem with my X99-UD4 system. In the end, I gave up on the Clover ioreg stuff and used the VoodooHDA plugin. It worked the first time. The only gotcha is the input from the speaker creates a terrible noise. You have to tweak the input gain to get good audio from the speaker. You can get another utility called VoodooHdaSettingsLoader that will keep the input gain settings consistent among reboots. Otherwise, without this utility, you have to reset the gain each time you boot/reboot your Mac. BTW - I am running Mavericks since Yosemite gave me fits with my X99 board (waiting for PCIRoot). I suspect the same VoodooHDA plugin works for Yosemite like it does for Mavericks. Hope this helps.

The sound was way to low and the noise way to high. I was not able to set it up correctly. I would rather go with this method rather than trying to get VoodooHDA to work... Right, but did you adjust the input and PCM gain using the VoodooHDA tool? If not, you will get the terrible noise and low noise problems you mentioned above. Let me know if you need a screenshot or two of how I setup VoodooHDA for my X99-UD4.
Edkroket
The patch is broken from what I can tell. At one point it worked now it seems it does not. Its not my patch so I am not sure what changed. See attached. Sorry for the delay! But this one works great! However I had to do a fresh install again and tried to use the new audio_realtekALC-100_v1.0.4 and audio_alc_x99-hda-100_patch.command. But that doesn't give me any sound. Do you think the new clover ALC-100 script will work now? I'm still using your kext now but prefer to have it patched on the fly with updates.
