Pimentel
Hello Did you try just open Midi configuration app and check if your Sourd Card are enabled??? Did you use some kext: AppleHDA or VoodooHDA for audio or this Sound Card doesn't needs it?
newmy51
This is my MIDI config app window: http://image.bayimg.com/9d52366810596904e62b1819ecadea5491b555f2.jpg I used a kext to get my sound working after my initial install. Have not used it again, but will try now.
Kervich
Which bootloader are you using? For clover, use the following instructions, to patch your AppleHDA.kext on-the-fly: https://github.com/toleda/audio_CloverALC If you're using Chameleon or one of its variants, there's similar approach available in the latest versions
newmy51
reisntalling the kext has had no effect. still soundless. bummed. bootloader? i know I chose one when I was first configuring this machine. i now can't remember which one I have... easy way to check? i should mention that i had ongoing, mind-numbing audio problems on this rig before. a build from this thread: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/297207-voodoohda-285-for-mavericks-slice-anv-signed/ was the only thing that ended up working. jl4c
Remove all crappy VoodooHDA, learn and enjoy patching AppleHDA to have native Apple audio. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/295001-guide-to-patch-applehda-for-your-codec/
newmy51
my brain began melting upon reading that guide. it also starts with instructions for Linux. his terminal cmds don't work on my machine. i remember having issues with native audio when first sorting out my many post-install issues. Voodoo was all that worked. i'm happy sticking with that over AppleHDA. update: getting very low volume audio, but only with input gain turned way up in the Voodoo prefpane. lots of white noise, hiss, static. goes away when input gain slider is brought down, but so does what little audio I have. newmy51
fixed after reinstalling VoodooHDA_V286_MAV, which is curious, since AppleHDA is now clearly in charge of my suddenly restored audio. go figure...
