7210211
hi, i have a AMD X2 3800+ socket AM2 and i dunno why the SS3 doesn't work... i installed the SSE3 patch from the JaS 10.4.6 dvd and when i restart. my computer doesn't load into Mac OS X... so... i installed JaS 10.4.7, this time when i installed the SSE3 patch the same thing happened. I know that my CPU is SSE3... when it loads, it shows everyting that it loads and then goes to the "kernal" stuff. here it frezzes and doesnt do anything anymore... please comment if you know the solution or any ideas that would help... Rammjet
The kernel in hacked OSX is from 10.4.4 because no one has figured out how to hack a newer one. The old kernel is not keeping up with new hardware. Try installing the SSE2 patch during installation. mspr
Hi, I have the same problem... I have an X2 3800 AMD Toledo (socket 939) that supports the SSE3 instructions as I can see in CPU-Z but when I tried to use the SSE3 patch the system doesn't work and I cannot load into Mac OSX I tried JAS 10.4.6 and now 10.4.7 but it's the same... OSX starts with SSE2 patch but the system hangs for few seconds scrolling windows, dock bar, etc... JaS
AMD X2's need the amd sse2 kernel,it will not show sse3 in the system profiler but it will still use it in the system,If your cpu has sse3 in the cpu then the sse3 emulation will not be used by the kernel, the sse3 emulation only catches exceptions thrown when a sse3 instruction is not there Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/29903-sse3/#findComment-207481 Share on other sites
