Miles400
Hi, I was wondering does anyone think that for people with Mavericks installed on the Surface pro 1 & 2 that when Yosemite is released in the fall or through the beta program now, we will simply be able to update directly through the app store just as I would on my iMac without having to do a complete reinstall, or alter kexts? Or would attempting this result in a non booting OS X install?
JahStories
most people are still downloading an early developer beta of it...
themonarc
I don't have a Surface hackintosh, but I can tell you that when I upgraded to Mavericks from ML it was though a clean install (and then file transfer). I'm 99.74% sure that you can't just upgrade through the Mac App Store, although that would be very easy... As the old Chinese proverb says, "Build hackintosh is a rewarding process, but has many limitation."
JahStories
Seems pretty easy to install, obviously it's not a one click update like on the mac side and no help from the forum community since its a beta, actually a developer preview... about the chinese proverb... Hackintosh in general can be messy or stressful to find drivers, but i don't see any limitation, instead i see more freedom of choice about HW and cheaper prices and that's sure a plus.
