F9Ac kSMCBadArgumentError(0x89) Edit:Using latest fakesmc 3.3.1 from slice I get that too but not those exact ones. I have to modify my FakeSMC.kext info.plist whenever I install a new version to avoid that. The keys you need to add go into IOKitPersonalities/FakeSMC/Configuration/Keys. Now here's the problem: I don't know what keys info you need for each key. I found mine by googling the key and I managed to find the right info. The keys you want to add are present in your log. They are the letters/numbers right before kSMCBadArgumentError. Here's a screen shot of the info.plist for FakeSMC.kext where the key info is located. pokenguyen
After install Recovery HD Update, I can't boot to Recovery HD anymore, it just boots straight to Yosemite. I found a solution: Mount the HD by type this in terminal: diskutil mount Recovery\ HD Go there and delete "System" and "com.apple.X" folders. Only com.apple.recovery.boot folder is needed in Recovery. EDIT: You should backup them before deleting.
Riley Freeman
I'll have to try that. After running it I got two Recovery HD entries in the bios boot manager. They come back even after deleting as there's two boot efi files in the partition (s/l/e and c.a.r. Update: Yep that fixed it!

fusion71au
me too..mhmm You use GenericUSBXHCI.kext ? Hi @magnifico, Did you check whether the kext was loaded? Type in terminal kextstat | grep GenericUSBXHCI or in general for third party (non Apple) kexts being loaded, kextstat | grep -v com.apple. If it isn't being loaded from /S/L/E, try injecting it from Clover's /EFI/Clover/Kexts/10.10 folder or using the boot argument kext-dev-mode=1. The problem might be related to the new way Apple is checking kext hashes in its kext exclude list - see post #1386. I'm pretty certain the GenericUSBXHCI.kext you're using isn't properly signed and therefore not loading... After running "sudo kextcache -prelinked-kernel" i got black screen. No boot anymore! Even in single user / verbose or safe mode i can't reach boot screen. Try booting in single user mode with a Chameleon r2380_10.10_CBv2 USB boot stick into your Yosemite partition, typing the following commands consecutively... -s fsck -fy mount -uw / cd /System/Library/Extensions sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Caches/* exit ---> this should rebuild the kernelcache in emergencies...
ADHDMedia
Found a modified GenericUSBXHCI on another thread that's working like a charm on DP4 if you guys wanna try it out, credit to the dude who patched it http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/286860-genericusbxhci-usb-30-driver-for-os-x-with-source/?p=2042974
pinarek
Hello friends When updating to the DP4 there were amazingly, no problems. Besides the AppleHDA and Intelcpupowermanagement-kext, I had nothing exchange. I still use these 2 files from the 10.9.4 Mavericks. TRIM Enabler I no longer use because of slowing the whole system in Yosemite and also at Mavericks. So far everything is very satisfactory ... though it but it was only a Dev Preview 4 is. Update: By the way, no longer has the terminal the command: diskutil repair permissions / be used, since then repair permissions again since DP3, in Disk Utility, works.
oSxFr33k
Try booting in single user mode with a Chameleon r2380_10.10_CBv2 USB boot stick into your Yosemite partition, typing the following commands consecutively... -s fsck -fy mount -uw / cd /System/Library/Extensions sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Caches/* exit ---> this should rebuild the kernelcache in emergencies... I have no idea what happened to my kernel cache but it cannot load it any longer. I have Mavericks 10.9.4 on the first partition so I can manage the Yosemite partition. I tried everything it just won't load. EFI boot message: boot file path : System/Library/CoreServices/Boot.efi ....error loading kernel cache (oxe) boot failed, sleeping for 10 seconds etc etc I'm just re-installing since its only taking 12 minutes total time. The thing is since I do not know why this happened it could happen again and I have no idea how to fix it?

fusion71au
@oSxFr33k, I vaguely remember once corrupting my kernelcache after running Kext Utility in Yosemite and/or sudo kextcache -prelinked-kernel.... I fixed it by deleting Yosemite's kernelcache from within Mavericks, then booting Yosemite in single user mode with a Chameleon r2380 USB boot stick to rebuild it. Had to use chameleon since Clover can't boot Yosemite without kernelcache at the moment.... Edit I meant while booted into my Mavericks partition, I deleted the kernelcache located in the Yosemite partition. Yosemite's kernelcache was obviously not located in my Mavericks partition . Maniac10
After updating I see two entries to my partition Yosemite.. Maybe it's the extra content on the Recovery HD partition. Try what pokenguyen suggested.

Actually I think its my fault for Control-C to kill the command. I removed the AppleKextExclude.kext and like a dummy ran the kextcache command, it would not stop complaining, killed it and I think in doing so corrupted it. I did not know Yosemite cache can be on the Mavericks partition to? Where does it keep that? Thanks

magnifico
Edit I solved it by hiding the partition recovery in config file After install Recovery HD Update, I can't boot to Recovery HD anymore, it just boots straight to Yosemite. Pike R. Alpha
Update: By the way, no longer has the terminal the command: diskutil repair permissions / be used, since then repair permissions again since DP3, in Disk Utility, works. It's still there, but you want: diskutil repairPermissions /dev/disk0s2 After install Recovery HD Update, I can't boot to Recovery HD anymore, it just boots straight to Yosemite. I found a solution: Mount the HD by type this in terminal: diskutil mount Recovery\ HD Go there and delete "System" and "com.apple.X" folders. Only com.apple.recovery.boot folder is needed in Recovery. Sorry, but this is wrong. Yes. Your boot loader may not get it, but the files should be there. This is how it works on real Macs. In short. Fix the boot loader(s). Also. Updating the kernel cache should be done with: sudo touch /S*/L*/Extensions sudo kextcache -Boot -U /

The title for the Recovery Partition is "Boot Recovery from OSX 10.10", and there are two Yosemite entries, each named "Boot Mac OS X from OSX 10.10". Instead of deleting "System" and "com.apple.boot.S" folders, I simply renamed them with the "OG" prefix (for "original") and also renamed the boot.efi in /System/Library/CoreServices to OG.boot.efi. After restarting the computer, everything returns to normal... and the title of the Recovery Partition is now "Boot Recovery from Recovery HD" @Pike has a good point: the new folders do serve some purpose so I decided not to delete them until more is known about them .
