jsl
I tkink you've got it right. I also have a Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe with 939 socket and I think (not sure at all, I don't remember ) I did installed Mav on it but never get to far with it. I gave up on this since it wasn't stable and also because I couldn' install Windows 8.1 due to an incompatibility with those 939 socket CPU's. And Yes, I can confirm that the HP dc5750 is an Athlon 64 X2 3800 + AM2 socket based. I'm really curious about your procedure for a 10.9.5 update You must have a fully working 10.9.4 or 10.6.8 for the following procedures after update to 10.9.5: 1. Replace mach_kernel with the attached one (mach_kernel.zip) 2. Replace these kexts of the attached one (10.9.5_AMD.zip) 3. Repair permission by Disk Utility 4. Reboot for the first time with boot argument : mach_kernel npci=0x2000 -v UseKernelCache=N 5. Because I have renamed the patched kernel as mach_kernel, you can get fast boot later by UseKernelCache=Y Good luck ! mach_kernel.zip 10.9.5_AMD.zip 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/297391-cpus1-fix-for-amd-athlon-64-x2-3800/page/2/#findComment-2076760 Share on other sites
polyzargone
Many thanks, it works ! Just had a KP soon after update completition while installing Security Update but I think it was kernel-related. I booted back with the deekay kernel and everything is fine so far. Since 10.9.5 is obviously the ultimate update for Mavericks, I'll wait till Yos AMD kernel is ready Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/297391-cpus1-fix-for-amd-athlon-64-x2-3800/page/2/#findComment-2077084 Share on other sites
