omni
It would be great if everyone had their setup in the signatures, something as simple as Balamut's, or as elaborate as stinga11's...I can't keep track with who's running what anymore. EDIT: Thus I added my own signature. @Klonkrieger2 What's the CPU you have again and what are your AICPMI values? Also, have you tried running NullCPUPM and check the AICPMI values, too? Could you paste both here if you have them? XCPM will not work for non-Haswell CPUs, so that's a dead-end, afaik.

shilohhh
Just need the "StepContextDict" of MacMini6.2,use that "Dict" to replace the "StepContextDict" in MacPro6.1 Where is the plist for MacPro6,1? @balamut Coderush's tool worked for me to unlock e2 on bios 4206 for my R4E. Just use bios flashback to install once it's patched the version you need.

omni
@Balamut, Sorry, I must have missed something, what am I looking for in MSR 0xE2? By the way, if some of you are running an older version of Pike's AICPMI you will not see IPG-like P-States displayed (meaning showing all of them vs just some of them) so make sure you get the latest clone from Pike's Github repo. Balamut
@omni: I meant MSRpatcher.dylibm did you guys managed to get 0xE2(0x403) registered? For some odd reason Chameleon refuses to boot up on mine, so can't test and report back

omni
@Balamut I posted an updated version today of MSRpatcher that now sets the higher bits (25-28) and whatever lower bits are present (as per BIOS settings). This version works nice for me as it gives me C2-C7 states.

Balamut
@omni is there a way to implement MSRpatcher for clover?
stinga11
Same behavior here. Balamut, would you try a patched chameleon boot loader? I achieve it adding two lines in CPU.c and if your bios is unlocked you could have also c3 residency with it line added are: msr = rdmsr64(0xE2); wrmsr64(0xE2, (msr & 0x8000000)); You can upload your cpu.c patched to see where in the file you put the patch. omni
I still don't understand why do you want to recompile Chameleon when I built a module for it that you just need to drop into /Extra/modules/ folder and get the very same effect that fabiosun is talking about. Also, this is possible with Clover too, but until we are 100% sure that it truly does make a difference I'm holding back on doing it. @stinga11 My SSDT is generated with a modified Pike's script then edited since I run dual CPUs and his script does not support that configuration. omni
@Balamut You need to make sure there are no Clover leftovers on your partitions as that will confuse Chameleon. I had that problem and until I fixed it Chameleon was not giving me any love. Generally you can read the first 512 bytes of the partition and see what's in there with: dd if=/dev/diskXsY of=test bs=512 count=
Klonkrieger2
huh... that's strange. I have never seen 1.5W on my system. I also tested your cpu.c code change with MSR 0xE2, but no changes for me... OS x 10.9.2 IPg 3.01 and hW monitor not latest release
omni
@Klonkrieger2 I've seen 1.5W a few times on my system but now somehow I can't go below 2.5W...hmph. Could you please try my MSRpatcher and see what it says in the bdmesg output, it should show you before and after MSR 0xE2 values...
