xangel9626
Could you try to hook your modem directly to the computer to see if your internet works? Have you tried rebooting the router with the Ethernet cord plugged into the computer? Also there are a couple fixes you can try on this page https://discussions.apple.com/message/23542146#23542146 Specifically the ones jasonm68 and slide79 suggest. xangel9626
@ Offshore - There is a DSDT on Page 2 Post #24 for a T7500. MIrko888 gave a link for a FakeSMC on Page 5 Post #93 that should work perfectly for you. @ mirko - You're welcome. I have a second hard drive set up to test updates before I use them on my main OS X install. So any time an update comes out, I will be installing them and posting if it works or has issues.

xangel9626
The difference in speed could be because of your new hard drive. You also might want to use a CPU monitor and check if your computer is reaching full speed or not. If it isn't, then you should see if you can find a different DSDT for your processor. Also, where did you get your original files from? You should be able to download them again and check if they make a difference.
Phibermatrix
so I have removed all wifi cards except the original one that came with the computer but still not booting sticks at the same screen i posted a while back. Trying another fresh install then if it still doesn't work I might have to call it quits on this until spring break.
offshore
Hi Xangel .... I used the dsdt you've indicated, but I used the fakeSMC that I found in the first file that you put that indicated 1530 .... now I have made a zip with the files on, and I put it on cd .... HWMonitor does not work and I do not know why ..... I tried another type but that does not work ..... anyway at the moment are satisfied! Now I hope that will not break even this hdd! ehehehe!! if it helps anyone here are the files that I used for my Dell Vostro 1700 I have in my signature ..... xangel9626
@offshore - you can change the fakesmc any time you want. Just go into your extensions folder, delete the old one, put in a new one, and then rebuild the extensions.mkext. Reboot your computer afterwards and it'll use the new one. For the hardware monitor, use Kozlek HWMonitor 2.3.7. It works well in my system. It would also be beneficial to get another hard drive and make copy of your OS X installation just in case something gets messed up, having a backup of your install files is good, but having a backup of the whole system saves time. @phiber - you're still getting stuck at the Alps Glidepoint? If I remember from all my troubles, this is an indicator that your video card isn't loading properly. Let me know your status on the next reinstall, I will do my best to help you at that point. Hope you are doing well in school. If anyone might be interested, we can look into setting up a live chat session and try walking though the install step by step...... mirko888
@xangel - i only have 160gb and 16gb usb stick and its killing me...i ordered 500gb internal hdd 2 months ago and still waiting...ebay seller from Singapore is not the fastest way to buy but its the cheapest theres still one thing bothering me...its the sound...the volume to be exact...i connect my pc to tv via vga+3.5mm for sound and when i turn volume up on tv(pc volume is on max) i hear sound distortions..especially with the new mkvs...i found this patched applehda for stac9205(i think we all have the same one...check to be sure) http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/files/file/161-applehdakext-for-latitude-d630-stac9205/ i would test it myself but it sais to "set layout-id to Zero" in the kext description is this dsdt related? if anyone knows what that means i would gladly test the kext EDIT : DOESNT WORK or i could just boot windows when watching movies on tv and stop being a smartass friendly advice @anyone that keep getting stuck at random points ---- delete everything(usb installer included ) you have done so far and start from the beginning using this guide
capotchino
Finallyyyyy i got it work i don't know what happened but i used the fakesmc from link #93 and DSDT in #24 with the installation of 10.9 thank you very much Xangel9626 and all other members who helped us can i update mavericks to 10.9.2 ? or i will get stuck ?
xangel9626
@mirko - I've already tried that AppleHDA and it doesn't work. No idea what the set layout-id to zero means. I've never noticed distortion in the audio when playing movies connected to my TV, but I don't do it often. Have you tried other video players to see if the player might be the issue? I do believe that VLC has an equalizer built in, I might be wrong though. Also, I was assuming that everyone was starting from scratch making the USB installer and doing the install............ @capotchino - Awesomeness. You should be able to update to 10.9.2 without issues except for removing AppleHDA if you're using VoodooHDA. I would always make a backup of the OS X hard drive using CCC just in case. mirko888
@xangel no the issue is that the voodoohda outputs very low max volume-i can't hear a sound until volume slider is set to at least 50%.. (compared to windows,or patched applehda-had one working perfectly ages ago)...and when i bring up the volume on tv the sound is very bad(because the source volume is too low)...its not a problem at all....will boot to windows...just wanted to know what layout set to 0 means...maybe fusion will know...cheers
fusion71au
theres still one thing bothering me...its the sound...the volume to be exact...i connect my pc to tv via vga+3.5mm for sound and when i turn volume up on tv(pc volume is on max) i hear sound distortions..especially with the new mkvs...i found this patched applehda for stac9205(i think we all have the same one...check to be sure) http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/files/file/161-applehdakext-for-latitude-d630-stac9205/ i would test it myself but it sais to "set layout-id to Zero" in the kext description is this dsdt related? if anyone knows what that means i would gladly test the kext The DSDTs I've posted in this thread & for xangel have the HDEF section removed for maximum compatibility with VoodooHDA.kext (hence no layout-ID info provided by DSDT). If you want to try the patched AppleHDA.kext, you first need to delete VoodooHDA.kext from S/L/E before installing AppleHDA with kext wizard/kext utility. Then use Chameleon Wizard to install the HDAEnabler.dylib module and the following settings to org.chameleon.boot.plist: Set HDAEnabler=Yes Set HDEFLayoutID=0
xangel9626
Just tried Fusion's AppleHDA trick above and I have no audio, so either that doesn't work or the patched stac9205 AppleHDA doesn't work.
mirko888
@fusion @xangel thank you for your help...il try it myself maybe i will have better luck...thank for your help...you were very helpfull to me during "hackintoshing" and i can't thank you enough EDIT yup...doesnt work ...i will try to add hdef from my original linux dumped dsdt to my current fusion patched one...and will let you know if i succeed....if not i will try to binary patch apple hda for our laptops i will give our laptops max volume even if i have to learn programming in assembler i will do it...i promise...just wait...a couple of months(years) ahahahah...cheers if not will install windows 7 again (just for external tv movie watching offcourse )...this 8.1 is getting on my nerves ....i hate it more than vista p.s. i just love this emoticons sorry hahaha... mirko888
@xangel i achieved something ....i don't know if it outputs max volume(will compare to windows tonight, and connect to my tv when i get home)....i edited info.plist in our voodoohda kext changing string : <key>VoodooHDAEnableHalfVolumeFix</key> from false to true...i found this fix somewhere on the net...tried it before but i messed up something with permissions..now volume slider works much better-you can hear sound below 50% slider level....but i think it does only that ...anyhow this is better then original voodoohda in your guide...you can try it yourself and paste link to your first page guide(if you want)...will let you know later if volume output is any louder..if not will patch applehda in a few days .....cheers voodooHDA.kext for inspiron1720/vostro1700 (STAC9205) with half volume fix : http://www.sendspace.com/file/ii3vqo EDIT: tried it with airfoil (airplay) streaming to my iphone connected to my speakers...the volume max output is doubled will try it with 3.5mm output when i get home and will let you know for sure...guys try it out and please before installing play a song or something in itunes on max volume and try to remember the volume...and then the same with the new voodoohda...i forgot that step hahaha for noobs like me : 1.delete voodoohda.kext from S/L/E ...also remove applehda.kext if you have it 2.use kext wizard, click on installation tab...browse to this new kext and make sure you install it on your intended partition 3.click the first tab in kext wizard(maintenance) and tick all available boxes...make sure the partition is the right one then click execute EDIT 2: it solved my problem...output from 3.55mm to my speakers is much louder...still not like windows but good enough for watching movies
xangel9626
I'll give it a whirl and let you know what I hear. I haven't had a problem with Win8.1, it's faster and has a few more features Win7 doesn't have. If you add Start8 and set it to boot to desktop, use a reg key to remove folders from "This PC", and add gadgets, it's like Windows 7 with apps. Just like hackintosh-ing, you need to tweak it to get it to work for you. EDIT: @Mirko - Your VoodooHDA fix works really well. My volume has been increased significantly. This weekend I will try to spare the time to revise my instructions on page 1 with the simplified edit and all the things that have been contributed. Now, since you seem to be liking hunting for and fixing issues, how bout a fix for shut down and a way to boot the second hard drive from the media direct button??
